The 23rd Session of the Council of Europe Standing Conference of Ministers of Education, under the heading “Education for Sustainable Democratic Societies: the Role of Teachers”, will take place in Ljubljana in Slovenia, on the 4 and 5 June 2010.
 
The Conference will be an opportunity to explore the role of education and, more particularly, teachers in finding common, viable and effective solutions to the challenges facing European societies today. The ministers will have the occasion to discuss the questions regarding the training of education professionals, the key competences they need in order to help build a sustainable democratic society, their professional development and their responsibilities as members of co-operation networks.
