07 Jul 2008 → 11 Jul 2008; Newcastle, NSW, Australia

abstract: The series of winter schools is designed to introduce mathematical and computational biology and bioinformatics to advanced undergraduate and postgraduate students, postdoctoral researchers and others working in the fields of mathematics, statistics, computer science, information technology, complex systems analysis, and biological, chemical and medical sciences and engineering.

Each day will be dedicated to a specific theme and presentations will range from introductory to advanced, focusing on both mathematical and biological issues. Our lecturers, many of whom are leading national and international authorities, have been selected for their ability to make their topic accessible to non-specialists, but at the same time exciting to those who already have some previous knowledge.
