| 1. | [ID=174467]Algebras, Operators and Noncommutative Geometry |
| 01 Dec 2008 → 05 Dec 2008; Canberra, ACT, Australia |
| abstract: There have been some very rapid changes to the interactions of algebra, geometry and analysis in recent years, many prompted by new mathematical ideas coming from physics. Novel algebraic structures have been invented, new methods for calculating invariants of geometric objects found and radical developments in noncommutative algebra and analysis have occurred under the influence of string theory and many body quantum physics. This meeting is to review these rapidly developing areas, so as to provide an additional attraction for international visitors who may be interested in attending the AustMS/NZMS convention. It also provides opportunities to postgraduate students and postdoctoral fellows to access these latest developments and to relate them to their own research. |
