	abstract: This Workshop intends to promote the collaboration of an emerging group based in the recently created Federal University of ABC (UFABC), with well established centers in Brazil and abroad. The Workshop on Stochastic Modeling should be a forum to discuss new developments in probability theory and its applications. Activities include plenary talks, a mini-course devoted to undergraduate students and a poster session.
