abstract: NPC 2008 hosted by Shanghai Jiao Tong University, will be held from October 18 to September 20, 2008 in Shanghai, which is located along the coast of the East China Sea and the southern banks of the mouth of the Yangtze River, is a city under the direct jurisdiction of the Central Government. Covering an area of 5,800 square kilometers (2,239 square miles), Shanghai has a population of 18.7 million, including 2 million floating population. It is the largest metropolis in China and one of the most historically significant cities.

abstract: Over the past decade there has been a growing interaction between researchers in theoretical computer science, networking and security, economics, mathematics, sociology, and management sciences devoted to the analysis of problems arising in the Internet and the worldwide web.

The Workshop on Internet & Network Economics (WINE) is an interdisciplinary forum for the exchange of ideas and results arising in these varied fields. The 4th edition of WINE will take place in December 2008, at Shanghai, China --- an exciting megalopolis experiencing an unprecedented social and economical phase transition, and thus a very appropriate locale for WINE.

All submissions will be rigorously peer reviewed and evaluated on the basis of the quality of their contribution, originality, soundness, and significance. Industrial applications and position papers presenting novel ideas, issues, challenges and directions are also welcome.
