	abstract: The “4th International Meeting on Gravitation and Cosmology” will focus on topics of current interest in Modern Cosmology and Astrophysics. The format consists in plenary talks of 45+10 minutes, a few lectures of more than one session, and possibly a session of short talks that may come out. Our hope is to enjoy an atmosphere of fruitful discussions on the hottest topics in Cosmology and Astrophysics, so that the meeting could be helpful to everyone. This is the fourth in a series of meetings, the first and second of which took place in Santa Clara, Cuba and the third it took place in Morelia, Mexico. The present edition is being jointly organized by the "Universidad Central de Las Villas" in Santa Clara, Cuba, and the "Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolas de Hidalgo", in Morelia, Mexico.
	topics: Scalar fields (moduli, dilaton, inflaton, Jordan-Brans-Dicke, quintessence, tachyons, phantom energy, etc.) in gravity theories, emphasizing their application to cosmology. Concerning cosmology, we welcome the discussion of different models, inspired by unifying theories (like superstring theory) or by scalar-tensor theories, emphasizing models with minimal and non-minimal coupluing as well as tachyonic scalars. Comparison with observations is also of interest.
