|3.Modern Synthetic Methods in Organoflourine Chemistry|
| Start date||06 Mar 2014 |
| Location||London, United Kingdom |
| Abstract ||The aim of this symposium is to highlight recent advances in synthetic methodology for the controlled introduction of fluorine into organic molecules, and their use in the pharmaceutical and agrichemical industries. Leading academics from the UK and Europe will present their latest research on the synthesis and application of fluorinated organic molecules, and experienced speakers from both the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries will provide insights into the application of organofluorine compounds to challenging real-world problems.
This meeting will focus on practical synthetic methodologies of direct relevance to industrial end users, as well as insights into how fluorine atoms can be exploited to tailor the structural and physical properties of organic molecules. The meeting will be of interest to chemists of all levels of experience working in industry, as well as academic researchers with an interest in the chemistry of fluorinated organic compounds.

|4.SCI PDS — 31st SCI Process Development Symposium|
| Dates ||02 Apr 2014 → 04 Apr 2014 |
| Location||Cambridge, United Kingdom |
| Abstract ||The symposium aims to bring together a wide range of speakers from across the Pharmaceutical, Agrochemical and Fine Chemical industries, as well as from an academic background.
The area of Process Development continues to be a challenging and important area for the research into and application of modern synthetic organic chemistry, as well as enabling technologies. Process Development is the application of chemistry to the scale up of new synthetic processes from the laboratory, through pilot plant to full scale commercial manufacture and into life cycle management. It is an extremely broad discipline, crossing the boundaries between synthetic organic chemistry, process technology and chemical engineering.|
| Topics ||Process development, scale up, manufacture, life cycle management, process technology, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical, fine chemical.|
