1.NCNTE 2012 — Third Biennial National Conference on Nascent Technologies

Abstract	In order to impart high quality technical education and to expose the young faculty members to the R&D being conducted in the latest technologies in the various fields of engineering, the first National Conference on Nascent Technologies in Engineering (NCNTE-2008) was conducted in March 2008. The two day conference was a great success and provided a great motivation to faculty members to actively participate in R&D in various engineering fields of their interest and to pursue Master and PhD programmes in engineering. It was decided to hold such national conferences biennially.

Abstract	The conference is being organized by the Transportation Systems Engineering (TSE) group at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is one of the top technical institutes in the world, established in 1958 by the Government of India. The TSE Group started in 1988 and currently grown to five faculty members and more than thirty graduate students is known for cutting edge research and involvement in major transportation studies in India. Starting from year 1996, we have biannually conducting international workshop on Transportation Planning and Implementation Methodologies for Developing Countries (TPMDC). On completion of 25 years of TSE group at IIT Bombay, we are organizing TPMDC-2012 as TSE Silver Jubilee International Conference. This conference on Transportation Planning and Implementation Methodologies for Developing Countries (TPMDC) will serve as an ideal platform to share the findings on the issues more relevant to the developing countries. Many approaches adopted in developing countries are derived from the work done in the developed countries. Thus, the work more relevant to the developed countries can also be presented in the conference.
