HSNCU — National Webinar on Interdisciplinarity and Natural Sciences: Disrupting the Silos
18 Jan 2022 • Mumbai - Webinar, India
Organizer:
HSNC University, Kishinchand Chellaram College, Research Committee
Abstract:
For a long time, academia has been characterized by rigid disciplinary boundaries with little possibility of a dialogue between and across disciplines. However, in recent times, there has been a blurring of disciplinary boundaries as scholars, pedagogues and researchers make increasing attempts at expanding, stretching and informing their pedagogies, methodologies and knowledges beyond disciplinary locations. This one-day National Webinar on ‘Interdisciplinarity and Natural Sciences: Disrupting the Silos’ is an attempt in this direction and seeks to build conversations around ‘interdisciplinarity’ in the domain of research and pedagogy, underscoring the need to disrupt the disciplinary silos in natural sciences and social sciences and to reflect critically on our own discipline and methodological practices. It also aims at raising critical questions about the nature of knowledge production and engage with questions of epistemology and ontology.
