Meetings/Workshops on Organic Chemistry and Polymers in Italy

Conference-Service.com offers, as part of our business activities, a directory of upcoming scientific and technical meetings. The calendar is published for the convenience of conference participants and we strive to support conference organisers who need to publish their upcoming events. Although great care is being taken to ensure the correctness of all entries, we cannot accept any liability that may arise from the presence, absence or incorrectness of any particular information on this website. Always check with the meeting organiser before making arrangements to participate in an event!

Meeting organisers can submit meetings free of charge for inclusion into the listing.

 Organizer Gordon Research Conferences
Abstract The field of organic electronics has enjoyed tremendous progress since the discoveries in the late seventies of conducting polymers and in the late eighties of efficient electroluminescent devices based on small organic molecules or polymers. Technological progress in this field takes place hand-in-hand with leaps in our understanding of underlying fundamental processes. A key challenge is to understand and, in turn, to control the basic current- and light-driven processes in organic materials.

This challenge is the central theme of this Gordon Research Conference. Questions to be addressed include: How do film structure and morphology affect the fundamental electronic processes in organic electronic materials? What is our current understanding of charge/exciton processes (injection/creation, transport, trapping/decay) in organic electronic materials? What are the optimal materials, morphologies, and device architectures for state-of-the-art organic solar cells, light emitting diodes, and transistors? What are the next opportunities for organic electronics?

The Gordon Research Conference on Electronic Processes in Organic Materials will provide an ideal setting to discuss in depth these and related topics with leading scientists from academia, government, and industry. Various sessions will be devoted to debating the questions outlined above, for a conference that will highlight the state-of-the-art in terms of our understanding of the fundamentals of organic electronics. For the first time in the conference's history, a Gordon Research Seminar (GRS), held immediately before the conference, will provide an excellent opportunity for young researchers to ease into the program.
