By definition, cancers invoke new blood-vessel growth -- a feature that is exploited by contrast-enhanced MRI. It also sets the modality apart in the range of tools used to diagnose and stage breast cancer. Yet learning the MRI appearance of different histologies, and differentiating them from benign causes of tissue enhancement, is a nuanced and complex task.

This course incorporates a detailed synopsis of breast MRI science, technique, and interpretation based on more than 20,000 cases of experience. ORTHOPAEDIC MODULE: MRI continues to advance diagnostics in the musculoskeletal axis with improvements in magnets, coils, and more importantly increased understanding of the available equipment and applications. Our orthopaedic MRI workshop reviews bone and soft tissue lesions, upper and lower extremities, sports injuries and pathologic disorders for the imaging clinician. Discussion of technique, pulsing sequences, indications and applications ensures that this course provides information useful for day-to-day practice, as well as current examples of more unusual findings.
