	abstract: The next annual AusIMM New Zealand Branch Conference is to be held in Wellington from 31 August to 3 September, 2008. Branch Conferences examine, update and comment on the minerals and mining industry in New Zealand and further afield. The Conferences attract quality technical and support industry papers. For example at the 2008 Conference up to the minute reports will be given on New Zealand activities while our President, Peter McCarthy, is again scheduled to address the Conference. The Conference, which typically attracts over half the Branch membership and those active in the New Zealand industry amongst the 250-350 attendees, gives an unparalleled opportunity to find out just what is happening in NZ.
