26 May 2010 → 28 May 2010; Bordeaux, France

19 Jul 2010 → 23 Jul 2010; Cracow, Poland
topics: The biennial conference is a major international forum to present and discuss the recent achievements in the advanced computer modeling of surface and bulk phenomena stimulated by all forms of irradiation. Fundamental understanding of these phenomena is often not accessible by experiments, since they occur on very small time and length scales. A vigorous development of both computer hardware and theoretical methodologies which has occurred in recent years has pushed the field into the forefront of a modern science.

21 Sep 2010 → 24 Sep 2010; Winfrith Technology Centre, Dorchester, United Kingdom

abstract: MCBEND is a computer program written to solve problems of radiation transport in subcritical systems using the Monte Carlo method. It has evolved through thirty years of continuous development from its origin as a basic shielding code for simple geometries. It is now capable of modelling realistic geometries in great detail and is applicable to an extensive range of problems involving the transport of neutrons, gamma rays and charged particles.
