Abstract	The European Physical Society (EPS) conference on Plasma Physics was established in 1966. The International Congress on Plasma Physics (ICPP) in 1980. The first joined EPS/ICPP conference (in Prague, June 29 ? July 3, 1998) was established to bring the two communities together. The boards of both conferences have decided to hold another joint conference in 2012 to promote links between the different plasma communities.
