The use of computational methods to support these applications has a long and well-established tradition. With the generalization of high-performance architectures and web-services, many new productive areas of interactions are evolving at the intersection of HPC, datamining and data-warehousing, distributed computing, financial mathematics and financial applications. The HPDFA workshop is intended to bring together specialists of those converging specialties to share views and compare technical developments on their relative merits for computer-based financial systems.

abstract: ICEHST 2010 main focus is on e-Health services and their related technologies, with a particular stress on the modeling of complex e-Health technology-driven service-provisioning systems. The target of ICEHST is to address the fundamental modeling challenges related to e-Health services. In approaching such services though, we are mainly concerned with Tele-Monitoring and Tele-Treatment, as two essential directions of supporting healthcare through advanced technology. By Tele-Monitoring we mean the monitoring of the patient’s condition (including the monitoring of vital signs, such as blood pressure and blood sugar), supported by technology systems. By Tele-Treatment we mean performing some forms of treatment from distance, for example through actuators.

Damit ein Medizinprodukt sicher und auch wirksam ist, ist das Wissen über die gewünschten Funktionen von Software, und auch dass diese Funktionen die gewünschten Effekte ohne etwaige Risiken erzielen, notwendig. Dazu ist es erforderlich, dass bereits beim Software-Entwicklungsprozess die gesetzlichen und normativen Grundlagen mit einbezogen werden.

abstract: MCBEND is a computer program written to solve problems of radiation transport in subcritical systems using the Monte Carlo method. It has evolved through thirty years of continuous development from its origin as a basic shielding code for simple geometries. It is now capable of modelling realistic geometries in great detail and is applicable to an extensive range of problems involving the transport of neutrons, gamma rays and charged particles.

The ever-expanding volume and increasing complexity of information on the Web has therefore made such systems essential tools for users in a variety of information seeking or e-commerce activities.
