Meetings/Workshops on Condensed Matter Physics: Clusters and Nanomaterials in the Ukraine

Conference-Service.com offers, as part of our business activities, a directory of upcoming scientific and technical meetings. The calendar is published for the convenience of conference participants and we strive to support conference organisers who need to publish their upcoming events. Although great care is being taken to ensure the correctness of all entries, we cannot accept any liability that may arise from the presence, absence or incorrectness of any particular information on this website. Always check with the meeting organiser before making arrangements to participate in an event!

Meeting organisers can submit meetings free of charge for inclusion into the listing.

1.DSSR-2012 — “Diffusion, Stress, Segregation + Reactions”
 Dates 01 Jun 2012 → 07 Jun 2012
[ID=440371] Go to top of page
 LocationCherkasy, Ukraine
Abstract DSSR is a child of two 'parent phases':

The first is DSS = Diffusion, stress, segregation-community gathered by Boris Bokstein (National Technical University ?Institute of Steel and Alloys?, Moscow) and Deszo Beke (University of Debrecen, Hungary). The workshops of this Community have been held in Hungary and Russia since 1995. The last one was in Moscow in June 2010. Usually such workshops gathered about 50 actively working researchers and provided extended possibilities for less formal talks and discussions. At the last meeting in Moscow (2010) it was decided that Cherkasy team would try to organize the next DSS using experience and advices of prof. Bokstein and prof. Beke.

The second is DIFTRANS= Diffusion and diffusional phase TRANSformations. Cherkasy team, together with Kiev researchers from Institute of Metal Physics (NASU), Institute of Physics (NASU), Kiev Polytechnic Institute, organize series of conferences DIFTRANS in Cherkasy region, Ukraine, in 1998, 2001, 2004, 2007.

These workshops, though diffusion ? based, have been concentrated more on diffusion ? controlled solid state reactions. They attracted such bright personalities (known as state-of-art researchers in diffusion and reactions) as Francois d?Heurle, Jean Philibert, King-Ning Tu, Frans Van Loo, Patrick Gas, Vitaliy Slezov, Anton Naumovets, Katayun Barmak, Leonid Klinger, Guido Schmitz, Figiri Hodaj... Thus, alternative abbreviation expansion of DSSR is Diffusion-controlled Solid State Reactions.

DSS and DIFTRANS communities overlap partially. Actually, for DSSR we would like to attract at least several researchers from another, third community ? the nucleation one ? the annual workshops at Joint Institute of Nuclear Research in Dubna, Moscow region, Russia, organized by Dr. Juern Schmelzer ( Rostock, Germany). Such triple joint will help to concentrate on nano-issues of DSSR.

We hope that interdiffusion of ideas from the three abovementioned communities will be truly reactive and productive.

Topics Diffusion along, in-, out- and across interfaces and their junctions; Diffusion-induced stresses (deformations) and stress (deformations)-induced diffusion; Reactive diffusion, interdiffusion and SHS; Nucleation in diffusion and diffusion in nucleation; Diffusion-controlled morphology evolution

 LocationAlushta, Ukraine
Abstract The Conference Organizing Team tries to pay an attention to traditional topics of conferences on Material Science and to most vanguard and attractive issues of modern nanosciencies and nanotechnologies. The scope of the Conference is widely spread from the nanostructured bulk materials and radiations effects in solids to the newest inventions in technology of nanparticles and nanolayers producing, from industrial functional coatings to the properties of carbon nanomaterials, nanobiotechnologies and functionalization of nanoparticles for medicine.

The conference host country is Ukraine that gives an opportunity to attend it for the researchers from former USSR, because of financial reasons. In order to provide deeper integration the Science of these countries into the World Research Area, the Conference Organizing Team applies a lot of efforts to popularize it in the world, to involve the participants from many countries and to invite a renowned scientist as an invited speakers.

Topics Nanostructured films and coatings, Properties and characterizations of surfaces and interfaces, Producing and characterizations of nanoparticles, Plasma and ion technologies for surface engineering, Consolidated nanomaterials and nanocomposites, Thin films, Radiation effects in solids, Advances in equipment and technologies, New materials in electrical engineering and electronics, Functional coating, nanoparticles functionalization, Nanopolymers, diamond-like and carbon nanomaterials, Magnetic fine particles, nanomagnetism. Nanoparticles in biotechnology and medicine, Nanomaterials for energy applications.
