Abstract Workshop presenters will include: Donn Lee, Facebook, Vijay Vusirikala, Google and Dan Kilper, Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs. This meeting will focus on quantifiable metrics related to optical communication within data centers, including projections for those metrics to 2022. The workshop extends the work begun at a two-day October 2011 program that focused on aggregation networks—the networks between end users and longer haul networks. The aim of the March 2012 workshop is to provide useful and coherent benchmarks and targets for system vendors, component suppliers, funding agencies, and other stakeholders in the future communications infrastructure. An outcome of the March 2012 event will be a comprehensive roadmap report that will be distributed to OIDA member companies and attendees.
