 Abstract The first five days of the ten-day Institute are devoted to reviewing background material on analysis, linear algebra, dynamical systems, mathematical biology, and requisite software. The last five days of the Institute will consist of research lectures and intense group research activities on new and emerging topics in mathematical modeling of biological systems. The Institute will be followed by a Workshop on mathematical modeling of biological systems consisting of presentations of research programs of experienced researchers with extended follow-up discussion periods. Participants will also have an opportunity to attend a one-day Career Development Workshop. Space is limited and registration is open only to graduate students and early career faculty (rank less than associate professor.)
