Zusammenfassung: This conference aims to bring together experts on classical isoperimetric inequalities, sharp functional inequalities, and spectral inequalities for a week-long conference in Carthage, Tunisia, where the mathematical problem named after Queen Dido, the founder of Carthage, originated. The week-long gathering will serve as a training ground for young researchers and graduate students, incorporating an intensive program on techniques of rearrangement, spectral analysis, and geometric inequalities. The conference will serve as a means to bring together the many trends within isoperimetry.

Zusammenfassung: The conference centers on random structures in the context of complex analysis, inspired by interactions between mathematics and physics. The central example is perhaps the Stochastic Loewner Evolution, introduced by Oded Schramm. SLE arises as the scaling limit of interfaces in 2D lattice models at criticality (percolation, Ising model, self avoiding polymers), and its elegant combination of probability and complex analysis has led to the proofs of many conjectures originating in physics. Other topics include Diffusion Limited Aggregation (a model for electrodeposition and other phenomena), Hele-Shaw flow (describing interfaces between fluids of different viscosities, e.g. oil and water), 2D Quantum Gravity and Random Maps.

Zusammenfassung: This conference will emphasize different areas of functional analysis. It will provide a venue for established scholars to interact with each other and with junior scholars. Partial support for a small number of participants is expected to be available. Recent recipients of doctor degree and pre-doc students are encouraged to apply. The meeting will take place in Valencia as a joint venture of the University of Valencia and the University Politécnica of Valencia. It will take place in the Mathematics building (and surrounding large lecture theaters) in Burjassot (Valencia) from June 7-11, 2010 (both days included). The structure of the conference is of plenary and long invited lectures in the morning, and twelve parallel sessions in the afternoon.

Zusammenfassung: On the occasion of the upcoming centenary of birth of Józef Marcinkiewicz (1910-1940) the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of Adam Mickiewicz University is organizing a scientific conference to commemorate one of the most eminent Polish mathematicians. The meeting will be devoted to some significant aspects of contemporary mathematical research related to Marcinkiewicz's scientific interests (real, complex and functional analysis, probability theory) including their applications.

Zusammenfassung: The goal of this program is to showcase the many remarkable developments that have taken place in the past decade in Random Matrix Theory (RMT) and to spur on further developments on RMT and the related areas Interacting Particle Systems (IPS) and Integrable Systems (IS): IPS provides an arena in which RMT behavior is frequently observed, and IS provides tools which are often useful in analyzing RMT and IPS/RMT behavior.

Zusammenfassung: Inverse Problems are problems where causes for a desired or an observed effect are to be determined. They lie at the heart of scientific inquiry and technological development. Applications include a number of medical as well as other imaging techniques, location of oil and mineral deposits in the earth's substructure, creation of astrophysical images from telescope data, finding cracks and interfaces within materials, shape optimization, model identification in growth processes and, more recently, modelling in the life sciences. During the last 10 yeas or so there has been significant developments both in the mathematical theory and applications of inverse problems. The purpose of the program would be to bring together people working on different aspects of the field, to appraise the current status of development and to encourage interaction between mathematicians and scientists and engineers working directly with the applications.

Zusammenfassung: The 2-week course in the Continuous and Discrete Wavelet Transform covers the following topics: Time-frequency localization of wavelet functions, multiresolution analysis and variational methods for wavelet constructions; PDE-based methods for the continuous wavelet transform; multiresolution signal processing; wavelets and topology of chaotic phase curves.

Zusammenfassung: The purpose of this conference is to bring together leading Asian researchers to achieve an international or higher level on the research of the Nonlinear Analysis, the Convex Analysis, and the Optimization. We announce this conference for all Asian researchers and students related to these fields to exchange the recent achievements, to share the current problems, and to encourage other researchers who have an interest in these fields. The conference will continue tradition of The first Asian Conference on Nonlinear Analysis and Optimization (NAO-Asia2008) meeting which was held in Shimane, Japan. Zusammenfassung: This conference is in honor of Willard Miller, Jr., who will be retiring from the University of Minnesota. Topics will include symmetry methods for differential equations, higher symmetries, separation and multi-separation of variables, special functions and orthogonal polynomials, Hamiltonian systems, both classical and quantum, super-integrability and its connections with separability and quasi-exact solvability, and applications to physical systems arising in classical and quantum mechanics and relativity.
