Zusammenfassung: With the current trends towards single sourcing, collaborative authoring, and embedded user assistance, the traditional concept of 'online Help' has broadened considerably in recent years. With this in mind, the Conference formerly known as 'Online Help Conference - Europe' has been renamed to UA Conference - Europe. The event continues to cover the full range of skills and technologies that combine to assist users, and retains its unique position as the only European conference to focus on software user assistance.

Zusammenfassung: From early human history, diagrams have been pervasive in human communication. The recent rise of multimedia technology that has turned advanced visual communication into an integral part of our everyday reality makes a better understanding of the role of diagrams and sketches in communication, cognition, creative thought, and problem-solving a necessity. These developments have triggered a new surge of interest in the study of diagrammatic notations, which is driven by several different scientific disciplines concerned with cognition, computation and communication.

Zusammenfassung: The Multimedia Analysis for Multimodal Interaction of User Behaviour in a Controlled Environment workshop aims to study techniques that capture and analyze multi-modal behaviour in controlled environments. As a result of such analysis, information should be adapted to the user needs and situation. Its goal is to stimulate interest in this field and to create productive synergy among researchers who are working in this fascinating area.

Zusammenfassung: Information Technology (IT) is central to modern life. Millions of users depend on secure, reliable, and high-performance access to computing and information services that support modern life, at home and in the work place, in small or large, public and private organizations.

Over the years, IT systems have become increasingly complex such that management of IT systems is now a serious bottleneck. Simply put, we are at a turning point where further advances in technology and business efficiency and growth require fundamentally new approaches to IT system design, management, and services.
