Zusammenfassung: The International Machine Vision and Image Processing Conference, will take place from the 8th to the 10th of September 2010 at the University of Limerick, Ireland is being organised by the Department of Physics. IMVIP 2010 is the main conference of the Irish Pattern Recognition and Classification Society (IPRCS), a member body of the International Association for Pattern Recognition (IAPR).

Zusammenfassung: The International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, is the premier forum for the presentation of technological advances and research results in the fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied image and video processing. ICIP-2010, the seventeenth in the series that has been held annually since 1994, will bring together leading engineers and scientists in image processing from around the world. Research frontiers in fields ranging from traditional image processing applications to evolving multimedia and video technologies are regularly advanced by results first reported in ICIP technical sessions.

Zusammenfassung: The Earth Observation (EO) Image analyst needs to identify image elements of interest, find a model-based correspondence to the semantics assumed, and explain the observed scene. The new methods are necessary to help the human operator, in a separate interaction loop, to generate functions for the aggregation of the obtained image elements and add desired semantics. Also, such methods should suggest to the operator the semantic annotation of the data, supporting bodies of knowledge, and position the domain ontology. To deal with the challenge of recognition and understanding of the huge variability and diversity of land cover structures and objects, it is necessary to analyze all available sources of information including multi-temporal, multi-sensor EO imagery, in-situ information, maps, GIS or textual data. Thus, new specific techniques of Knowledge Bases, Image Information Mining, KDD and Visualization need to be integrated.

Zusammenfassung: The 2nd International Workshop on Medical Image Analysis and Description for Diagnosis Systems (MIAD) aims to bring together researchers and practitioners working in medical and biomedical images processing domain. The workshop will also offer the opportunity to fill the gap between academic researchers, practitioners and industrial parts. MIAD encourages authors to submit papers to one of the main topics indicated below, describing original work, including methods, techniques, advanced prototypes, recent advances in acquisition devices (CT-Scan, MRI, 3D Ultrasound, molecular imaging), applications, diagnosis systems and tools.

Zusammenfassung: This workshop focuses on the processing, modeling and simulation of image data, and in particular, data that is related to humans and human activities. The main core areas consist of image processing, computer graphics, virtual surgeries, and sport sciences. The modern world is full of image data that is not only gathered from the real world via various imaging mechanisms, but also produced through computer simulations in a wide range of virtual settings. In order for this image based information to be useful, tasks such as cleaning up the images, segmenting special features from images, and comparing either the extracted features or the image data itself are essential. These tasks involve processing data that live in a wide range of dimensions, from two dimensional image data to very high dimensional data (e.g. the space of images), and require in depth mathematical analysis, modeling, and numerical algorithms.

Zusammenfassung: The Imaging Research Center is holding a two day MRI conference on September 23 and 24 of 2011. The target audience includes Radiologic Technologists, MRI Technologists, department managers, and students nationwide.
