 Zusammenfassung The cell is the basic unit of life. The acquisition of a nucleus to house the genetic material is thought to have provided a distinct advantage to the evolving cell, ultimately allowing the emergence of differentiated, specialized cells. Whereas much effort over the last five decades has been devoted to understanding the genetic material by biochemical approaches and sequencing, our understanding of how these materials are stored physically is only just emerging. Accumulating evidence suggest that genomes are organized non-randomly into complex 3D configurations that vary according to cell type, stage of development, differentiation and disease status. The principles, which guide higher order organization, the mechanisms responsible for establishment, maintenance and alterations of higher order genome, and the functional consequences of aberrant genome and nuclear organization have become areas of intense interest. The higher-order spatial and temporal organization of genomes in the cell nucleus is rapidly emerging as a driver of biological function in differentiation, development and disease and the incorporation of information on higher order genome organization adds an additional level of complexity in our understanding of genome regulation. These studies bring together several cutting edge fields including genomics, epigenetics, big data analysis, imaging and clinical cell and molecular biology. While the field of nuclear architecture in the past has primarily focused on the elucidation of the basic mechanisms of genome organization, the time is ripe to apply what we have learn to physiological and pathological processes. The 2015 conference on Genome Architecture in Cell Fate and Disease aims to foster a new community that is devoted to the understanding of nuclear architecture in cell fate determination, development and disease. The advances in imaging technology, big data analysis, and stem cell biology will provide a fertile ground for discoveries that may impact the basic understanding of life and may catalyze new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies in disease. Particularly emphasis will be placed on discussion of physiologically and pathologically systems including genome organization during cell differentiation and development, the epigenetic- and chromatin-landscape of embryonic-, adult- and cancer stem cells, chromatin organization in cancer etiological and the role of structural elements of the cell nucleus, including lamins, in disease and aging. Another angle is to promote cutting edge tools that allow us to visualize the nucleus both in static states as well as during transitions. Combined with big data efforts, these approaches will allow us to both unify and integrate chemical, biological, physiological as well as physical parameters into a coherent picture of the nucleus, especially the human one.

2.Frontiers of Cell Signaling

 Zusammenfassung Cell signaling, which is extremely complex and yet highly precise, is responsible for the development and function of multicellular organisms. Abnormal cell signaling leads to diseases. Recently, significant progress has been made in the biological studies of mechanisms and functions of signal transduction. At the conference, experts in Wnt, planar cell polarity and Hippo signaling, as well as signal transduction will discuss latest advances and new challenges. Additional talks will be selected from abstracts and poster awards will be given to excellent poster presentations by postdoctoral fellows and students. Social and networking opportunities will be included in the meeting program.

5.7th International Crop Science Congress

 Zusammenfassung International Crop Science Congress (ICSC) is a regular forum for crop scientists from around the world to integrate current knowledge into a global context and international applications. The Congress is organized about every four years beginning in July, 1992. The International Crop Science Society has primary oversight for general operations of Congresses. The location will rotate among countries that propose and are accepted to host the Congress. The Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and Crop Science Society of China are pleased to jointly host 7th ICSC on August 14-19, 2016 in Beijing, China. An excellent opportunity will be provided for participants from various regions of the world to share the latest global progress of crop science research, and develop recommendations for future thrusts in research, development, and technology transfer. Traditional areas where papers will be presented include crop germplasm, crop genetics and breeding, crop physiology and production, crop molecular biology and biotechnology, climate change and sustainability, crop protection, processing and utilization, and socio-economic aspects.Apart from the scientific exchange, we will also showcase new varieties, new products, new technologies and latest publications. Furthermore, post conference tours to farms and the scenic and/or cultural sites will feature your tour in China with both academic atmosphere and ancient cultural immersion of China.
