Zusammenfassung: Intersolar provides a unique insight into what the global solar markets have to offer. The trade show will focus primarily on photovoltaics, but also solar thermal technology and solar architecture. Zusammenfassung: The 10th OPTATEC will receive international experts in Frankfurt from June 15-18, 2010 with a significantly revised range of offerings, as well as a special presentation of current and future industry focal points. The unique mix consisting of a nomenclature which corresponds to actual requirements, a practical industry orientation and an internationally recognized information, communication and procurement platform for hardware and software for the implementation of optical technologies will bring international experts together again at the 10th OPTATEC at the Frankfurt Exhibition Centre.

Zusammenfassung: Photonic transmission technology is required in communication networks of all kind – from access to long haul and submarine. Moreover, optical multimode, free-space, polymer and on-chip communication channels are becoming ever-more important in other types of applications, including sensor networks, free space communications, and feeding radio over fiber. For many advanced applications, simple data communications approaches, such as intensity modulation with direct detection, are no longer adequate given data impairments, increased system capacity, and required spectral efficiency. As an example, more advanced equalizer and forward error correction (FEC) technologies are now penetrating into high-end metro and core networks as well as into lower-end short MMF link equipment. The system gain has been quite dramatic, adding several dBs of performance.

Zusammenfassung: This meeting aims to bring together experts from the fields of nanophotonics and photovoltaics to address the issues and opportunities for merging these two technologies. The scope of the meeting covers all aspects of optical nanostructures for photovoltaic applications, from textured surfaces and diffraction gratings through to emerging areas topics such as plasmonic enhancement, spectrally split multiple cells and spectral flux management in multijunction solar cells.

Zusammenfassung: The Nonlinear Photonics Topical Meeting has its origins in and replaces the Nonlinear Guided Waves meetings of the past. The intention of this meeting is to gather together theorists and experimentalists from around the world who are interested in nonlinear optical processes in devices and structures in order to define the state-of-the-art in this field and to enable interactions and collaborations.
