1.Cardiac imaging and modelling: Principles, methods and clinical relevance

Zusammenfassung	The aim of this summer school is to provide an integrative understanding of the structure and function of the human heart and the principles of cardiac imaging and modelling. The programme includes background anatomy and physiology of the heart, ventricular mechanics and blood flow, cardiac electrophysiology, electromechanical coupling, coronary flow and myocardial perfusion, as well as the clinical context. It will demonstrate how the combined disciplines of imaging and modelling not only give new insights into whole organ physiology but are also beginning to influence clinical practice.
