| Zusammenfassung | The conference EMIS 2012 is organized as no.16 in a series of international conferences which started in Harwell 1955 and concentrated mainly on the use of electromagnetic separators and related developments for scientific applications in atomic, nuclear and solid state physics, medical and nuclear engineering. Target and ion source techniques and isotope separation have been central topics in the EMIS conferences. For a few decades, growths and developments of radioactive isotope beam accelerator-facilities in Europe, North America and Asia have highly demanded international discussions and exchanges on new results and techniques to further promote the field. The EMIS 2012, now ranked as an IUPAP conference, has coherently combined these two aspects, spirits of the traditional EMIS and initiatives for radioactive isotope beams facilities (RNB) to become a flag-ship conference in these fields. This conference is organized under collaboration with Japan and China. |
