Zusammenfassung: Kernz08 aims at covering a wide spectrum of research activities, both theoretical and experimental that bring together nuclear structure and nuclear reactions, as well as applications such as nuclear astrophysics. Though these research directions often involve different sub-communities of nuclear physicists, we have seen that the interplay between these fields has not only been strengthened in recent years, but should also strengthen and unify nuclear physics itself.

Zusammenfassung: This Summer School on "Nuclei and Nucleonic Systems Exotic nuclei, halos, nuclear synthesis and more" will be held at the National Institute for Theoretical Physics in Stellenbosch, South Africa, from 19 to 28 January 2009. Zusammenfassung: The Nuclear Physics Board of the EPS has decided to organize a Joint Meeting together with the Hadronic and Nuclear Physics chapter of the Deutsche Physikalische Gesellschaft (DPG). This first European Nuclear Physics Conference will therefore be combined with the DPG spring meeting and take place from March 16-20, 2009 at Bochum University in Germany. The conference will have a unique style by being a mixture of high-profile plenary talks in the morning and the possibility for students to present their work to the international community in the afternoons.

Zusammenfassung: The CHEP conference provides an international forum to exchange information on computing experience and needs for the High Energy and Nuclear Physics community, and to review recent, ongoing, and future activities.

CHEP conferences are held in roughly 18 month intervals. Recent CHEP conferences have been held in Victoria BC, Canada (2007), Mumbai, India (2006), Interlaken, Switzerland (2004), San Diego, California (2003), Beijing, China (2001), Padova, Italy (2000), Chicago, Illinois (1998), Berlin, Germany (1997), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil (1995), San Francisco, California (1994), Annecy, France (1992) and Tsukuba, Japan (1991).

Zusammenfassung: NuInt09 is the sixth in a series of workshops concentrating on low-energy, neutrino-nucleus interactions. The goal of this series is to bring theorists and experimentalists from the nuclear and high-energy communities together to address the many challenges to understanding these complex interactions. After reviewing the motivation for these studies and the ongoing experimental efforts, the topic of nuclear effects will be introduced and each of the neutrino-nucleus scattering channels that contribute in the low-energy regime will be covered. Recent scattering results from oscillation experiments as well as the potential of experiments specifically designed to study these interactions will be discussed. The work of both nuclear and high-energy theorists to provide improved theoretical descriptions of these channels will also be reviewed.

Zusammenfassung: CIPANP is a conference designed to explore areas of interest to people working in elementary particle physics, nuclear physics, astrophysics, astroparticle physics and cosmology. Topics include both theory, experiment and instrumentationin fundamental interactions, elementary particles, nuclei,astrophysical phenomena and cosmic rays. CIPANP 2009 encourages participation by scientists with diverse backgrounds. Limited financial assistance is available to CIPANP 2009 participants in order to facilitate achieving this goal. The CIPANP 2009 Proceedings will be published by the American Institute of Physics.

Zusammenfassung: The COMEX conferences are a continuation of the long series of topical conferences on giant resonances started in 1979. The scope of COMEX3 will be similar to that of the previous ones, COMEX1, held in Paris in 2003 and COMEX2, held in Sankt Goar, Germany. Some of the main topics are giant resonances in cold and hot nuclei, collective modes in exotic nuclei, spin and isospin modes, clustering and pairing effects and multi-phonon excitations. In addition, applications in astrophysics and related collective phenomena in non-nuclear systems are part of the scope of the conference.

The conference will be hosted by the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory (NSCL) at Michigan State University and will be held at Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island, Micigan.

Zusammenfassung: The Meeting will cover a range of topics including the synthesis, analysis and uses of isotopes in pharmaceuticals, PET imaging, agrochemicals. metabolism and biology. There will also be four $1000 awards given to the top four student presentations involving Isotopes.

Zusammenfassung: The purpose of the workshop series is to discuss theoretical and experimental progress in studies of the QCD phase diagram and properties of strongly interacting matter at high temperature and density. Particular emphasis is put on the physics at non-zero baryon number density that shall be probed in future low energy experiments at BNL, CERN, GSI and JINR.

Zusammenfassung: The 2009 Gordon Research Conference on Nuclear Chemistry will focus on the frontiers of nuclear structure research. It will provide a forum to discuss the most exciting results from theory and experiment, from large and small laboratories, as well as new facilities, new instrumentation and new techniques. Responding to the scientific opportunities offered by exotic beam facilities, the program will include work at the interface of nuclear structure with nuclear astrophysics, and the interface of nuclear structure with nuclear reactions. The conference format allocates generous time for open and lively discussion both during and outside the scientific sessions.

Zusammenfassung: This school continues the tradition of past NNPSSs. The NNPSS is distinctively different from many other schools in that it provides lectures and activities that cover the entire field of contemporary nuclear physics, ranging from QCD and the structure of the nucleon, over the reactions and structure of nuclei, to astrophysics. Particular attention is being paid to fostering interactions between students and lecturers as well as among the students that tend to come from all areas of nuclear science. This not only helps to broaden the perspective of the new generation but also aids in the formation of a community spirit within the field. The school can accommodate 50 students typically within 1-2 years either side of earning a PhD.

Michigan State University is the site of the National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory, the nations premier rare isotope facility, the Mesoscopic Theory Center, and is part of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Astrophysics, and the UNEDF SciDAC Collaboration in nuclear theory.

Zusammenfassung: The Fifth International Symposium on Exotic Nuclei (EXON-2009) is scheduled for the last decade of September, 2009. The organizers of the Symposium are the FLNR JINR (Dubna), GANIL(Caen), RIKEN (Wako-shi), GSI (Darmstadt),– the scientific centers, where exotics nuclei have been intensively studied.
The Symposium will be devoted to the investigation of nuclei in extreme states and, in particular, at the limits of nuclear stability (from very light neutron- and proton-rich up to superheavy nuclei).

Zusammenfassung: The international nuclear physics workshop on Direct Reactions with Exotic Beams (DREB2009) will be held on the main campus of Florida State University in December of 2009. This will be the sixth of a series of workshops initiated by researchers from MSU, FSU and Orsay. The earlier meetings were held in 1999 at Michigan State University (USA), in 2001 at IPN Orsay (France), in 2003 at the University of Surrey (England), in 2005 at Michigan State University (USA), and in 2007 at RIKEN (Japan). We intend to keep the informal character that has been a tradition with the DREB meetings, allowing for a low cost fee to attract many students. DREB aims at presenting the latest in the field and stimulating fruitful discussions. Thus the list of talks will be selected from the submitted abstracts only.
