Zusammenfassung: The primary objective of this international workshop is to bring together researchers of varying backgrounds working on connective tissue microstructure, physiology and function using magnetic resonance imaging techniques, and to provide a forum for communication among these diverse groups. The workshop will also provide an opportunity for participants to get updated on the current status of MR imaging, recent advances of its role in drug development and management of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Topics covered include an introduction to the state of the art of musculoskeletal imaging at multiple resolution scales, as well as pre-clinical and clinical applications, with particular emphasis on MRI and spectroscopy. Organ systems covered include cartilage, bone, inter-vertebral disc and muscle as well as matrix materials such as collagen, proteoglycans and synthetic and engineered biomaterials used for tissue repair.

The target audience includes radiologists, orthopaedists, rheumatologists, endocrinologists, biochemists, cell biologists, physiologists, bioengineers, and imaging scientists from a variety of disciplines in academia, pharmaceutical industry and government involved in musculoskeletal research.

Zusammenfassung: This three-day weekend course (Friday afternoon - Sunday afternoon) is limited to cardiac MRI. It includes didactic lectures and an opportunity for participants to review cardiac MRI clinical cases from an extensive library collection. Instruction will be provided on workstations showing how to analyze cardiac. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to scan normal volunteers and choose from a number of Cardiac MRI protocols.

Zusammenfassung: CTC is a novel imaging technology that has proven to be a viable alternative to double contrast barium enema and colonoscopy for the diagnosis of colorectal cancer in symptomatic patients. Its accuracy, safety and patient acceptability also support its role as a potential screening modality for colorectal cancer and precursor polyps. This congress aims to raise medical awareness of CTC for both patients with symptoms and for colorectal cancer screening.

Acquisition of CTC data and its accurate interpretation require specific knowledge and reading skills. Both local and international experts will provide a mixture of lectures and practical hands-on workstation sessions with endoscopically validated CTC datasets. A wide range of presentations will span the whole field from the rationale for colorectal cancer screening, through acquisition of CTC data and its interpretation, pitfalls, Computer-Assisted Detection (CAD), and the specific implementation of CTC in Asia and the rest of the world. These will be supplemented by discussion and question and answer sessions. I would also like to invite you to submit your scientific papers and posters for the scientific abstract session and poster presentations.

Zusammenfassung: Algorithmic, mathematical and computational aspects of biomedical imaging, from nano- to macroscale. Topics of interest include image formation and reconstruction, computational and statistical image processing and analysis, dynamic imaging, visualization, image quality assessment, and physical, biological and statistical modeling. Molecular, cellular, anatomical and functional imaging modalities and applications.

Zusammenfassung: This course provides a balanced overview of the basics of more traditional breast imaging, blended with the newest state-of-the-art breast imaging techniques and modalities. Special attention will be given to Breast MRI and Full Field Digital Mammography, as well as newly evolving technologies such as Tomosynthesis, Phase Contrast Mammography, Whole Breast Ultrasound, and Molecular Imaging.
