Zusammenfassung: Frustrated systems can exhibit strongly enhanced fluctuations and manifold instabilities including novel classical and quantum liquids or other unusual correlated phases. It is the aim of this workshop to summarize the present achievements and pave the ways to possible new topics related to spin frustration and systems with competing interactions. These also include theoretical investigations and experimental studies of spin liquid and nematic states, spin ice, magnetoelastic coupling leading to exotic phases, quantum phases in strong magnetic fields, magnetic monopoles and others. This meeting also serves as a final meeting of the European Science Foundation programme on Highly Frustrated Magnetism.

Zusammenfassung: The conference „Magnetic fields on scales from kilometres to kiloparsecs: properties and origin” is intended for professional scientists, PhD students and Post-Docs interested in magnetic fields and their properties. We expect about 100 participants from all over the world. The conference will consist of invited talks, contributed talks, and a poster session. The conference proceedings will be made available in the electronic form.

Zusammenfassung: The conference will provide an international forum to discuss recent progress and future trends in the field. In particular, we aim at bringing together the community of more conventional spin-transport, with that of molecular and nano-magnetism.

Zusammenfassung: The workshop aims to overview and analyse the most recent theoretical and experimental results in the areas of magnonics, magneto-photonics, spintronics, and more generally magnetic phenomena in structured materials, including nanoparticles, nanowires, and metamaterials.

Zusammenfassung: EASTMAG – 2010 continues the tradition of important scientific symposiums on topical problems of magnetism and magnetic materials which consolidate scientists from Russia and other countries working in these fields. This series of symposiums started in the Institute of Metal Physics UB RAS (the city of Ekaterinburg, Russia) in 2001. The previous III EASTMAG symposium took place in the city of Kazan, Russia, in 2007. The EASTMAG-2010 Symposium is devoted to the centennial anniversary of the outstanding Russian scientist academician S.V.Vonsovsky, who worked in the field of magnetism.

Zusammenfassung: The official part of the Workshop will consist of about 30 invited talks and a poster session.

Topics include all sorts of nanomagnetic and superconducting research: molecular magnets, spintronics, spin and SQUID based quantum computing, novel magnetic and superconducting phases, low-dimensional systems, etc

No registration fee is anticipated. All participants will be responsible for their travel and living expenses.

Zusammenfassung: This series of events brings together and continues the traditions of the highly successful series of International Conferences on Complex Media and Metamaterials (Bianisotropics) and Rome International Workshops on Metamaterials and Special Materials for Electromagnetic Applications and Telecommunications. International Conferences on Complex Media and Metamaterials had eleven editions, with the names “Chiral”, “Bi-isotropics”, or “Bianisotropics”, reflecting the developments in the field of artificial electromagnetic materials.

Zusammenfassung: The main aim of the meeting is to pave the way for information exchange among researchers from all over the world who are involved in the field of nanoscale magnetism and nanostructured materials. In addition, colobaration of research groups and companies in multi-disciplinary, international projects for the development of magnetic nanomaterials, nanotechnologies and nanoproducts are expected to take place. The scope of the meeting comprises various aspects of synthesis and patterning of magnetic nanostructures, their magnetic properties, topics in spin-dependent transport, spintronics applications.

Zusammenfassung: The International Conference on Magnetic Materials (ICMM-2010), organized by Experimental Condensed Matter Physics (ECMP) Division, Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP), Kolkata, India, will be the third in the series, the earlier two being held in 2000 and 2007. The meeting is intended to provide a forum for presentation and discussion in the recent developments in magnetic materials. The sessions will include invited and contributed papers, oral and poster presentations. The organizing committee would like to welcome all of you at SINP to meet your colleagues and wishes you a pleasant stay in Kolkata.

Zusammenfassung: This Conference annually brings together scientists and engineers in all branches of fundamental and applied magnetism. Emphasis is placed on experimental and theoretical research in magnetism, the properties and synthesis of new magnetic materials, and advances in magnetic technology.
