Zusammenfassung: Fun and Games 2008 is a single-track conference that is aimed at bringing together resaerchers, designers and developers interested in applications of novel technologies in the areas of games and entertainment. It will provide a venue for sharing experiences and findings regarding innovations, design work, as well as theoretical and empirical investigations relating to the experience and the impact of related applications.

This year's event is the second event of the Fun and Games series, following the success of Fun 'n Games 2006 in June 2006 at Preston, UK.

Zusammenfassung: This year, the international colloquium of LIX (Ecole Polytechnique) focuses on the emerging trends and challenges of the foundations of the cross-disciplinary area of visual computing. Visual computing encompasses computational geometry, computer graphics, machine vision and learning (just to name a few), and relies at its very heart on information geometry. Visual computing is underpinning major industrial applications as attested recently by the emerging fields of computational photography, 3D cinematography and advanced biomedical imaging.

The colloquium will review recent breakthroughs by renown invited experts and survey emerging trends and emphasize on key open challenges. Participants are kindly encouraged to discuss on core scientific and technological issues that need to be further tackled.

Zusammenfassung: Where can we experience Images of Virtuality in our everyday life? Who do such such Images implicate information technologies, architectural artifacts, artworks, imagination, or combinations of such ellements? What do these Images mean to our everyday life? How does the experience of such Images transform our everyday practices and shape our own individual of collective Image? Current applications of virtuality make use of various technologies such as WEB2.0 & 3.0, ubiquitous computing with RFID, GIS and GPS, mobile networks, intelligent agents and context-aware systems, to construct a Cyberspace of virtual worlds and social networks. Trends point towards an integration of such systems at the point where the virtual and non-virtual will meld into a new digital space augmanting everyday life interactions. The goal of this workshop is to bring together researchers and practitioners interested in presenting and discussing conceptualizations of virtuality and current applications of Information Systems that supply virtual spaces of interaction. Zusammenfassung: The International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, is the premier forum for the presentation of technological advances and research results in the fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied image and video processing. ICIP-2010, the seventeenth in the series that has been held annually since 1994, will bring together leading engineers and scientists in image processing from around the world.
