Zusammenfassung: The purpose of the 6th International Conference on Web Information Systems and Technologies (WEBIST) is to bring together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in the technological advances and business applications of web-based information systems. The conference has four main track, covering different aspects of Web Information Systems, including Internet Technology, Web Interfaces and Applications, Society, e-Communities, e-Business and Web Intelligence.

Zusammenfassung: The convergence and evolution of networks and services in Information and Communications Technologies is continuing to drive the need for flexible testing and experimentation environments that respond to a large and diverse set of requirements. The corresponding testbeds range from small dedicated and well-controlled environments up to large scale environments that should exhibit properties anticipated by the future network. The value generation has shifted from the network towards the applications and the networked society is calling for the service environments that will deliver the complex and valued services to the customer, yet a reliable service delivery depends on a reliable network. Open testbeds are becoming state of the art, allowing both wide access as a shared resource and extensibility to include on-demand new end systems, network technologies, protocol stacks, and, most importantly, new middleware and service delivery platforms for specific test purposes. Major research and development programs around the globe have started to develop and deploy large scale experimental facilities, including GENI in the U.S., FIRE in Europe, AKARI, CNGI, and others in Asia. Due to the escalating complexity, attention is increasingly being devoted to cross layer testbeds that can support experiments spanning the network, service delivery and application layers. These Testbeds and Experimental Facilities for the Future Internet will play a pivotal role towards the future network, thus TridentCom 2010 will devote significant attention to them. TridentCom 2010 will provide a forum to explore existing and planned testbed concepts, infrastructures and tools to address the research and business challenges in a world of global convergence.

Zusammenfassung: DATICS Workshops were initially created by a network of researchers and engineers both from academia and industry in the areas of Design, Analysis and Tools for Integrated Circuits and Systems. Recently, DATICS has been extended to the fields of Communication, Computer Science, Software Engineering and Information Technology. The main target of DATICS-FutureTech’10 is to bring together software/hardware engineering researchers, computer scientists, practitioners and people from industry to exchange theories, ideas, techniques and experiences related to all aspects of DATICS.

Zusammenfassung: FTTx technologies are about to hit the prime time. The worldwide FTTx users are increasing exponentially and soon massive deployments across the globe will be initiated. Europe is expected to be one of the high growth areas and many leading vendors and operators are investing heavily on the related optical access network technologies. The technical topics of this meeting will address all relevant research challenges and open research issues.

The ninth edition of RoEduNet's (Romanian Educational Network) annual Conference, organized in Sibiu by ARNIEC under the patronage of the Romanian Ministry of Education, Research and Innovation and Lucian Blaga University of Sibiu, offers special opportunities for information exchange in computer networking: technical and strategic aspects, communication issues, and of course their applications in education and research. As in previously organized conferences, this new event offers a proper framework for joining prominent personalities of digital communication and computer technology, and allows significant sharing of ideas and practical experience.

Zusammenfassung: Currently, a number of institutions across the countries are working to evolve better models to provide collaborative technology services for scholarship by creating shared cyberspace thro expert collaboration, but this is a challenge for the institutions for a number of reasons. In the last few years, the landscape of digital technology applications projects for the various disciplines in humanities, social sciences, and sciences appears induced by many initiatives. For the creation of research clusters, the research community has thousands of databases, websites, local computing clusters, and web-based tools around individual themes, interests and projects. In most cases, these tools and resources are and were created to meet the specific needs of a particular community. In many cases, the funding and support for these critical initiatives is fragile and temporary, and directed in piecemeal fashion. There is a need to provide concerted efforts in building federated digital technologies that will enable the formation of network of digital technologies.
