Zusammenfassung: Following the success of previous meetings, the 4th meeting of the Digital Radiology User Group will give attendees an opportunity to share information and experiences in all aspects of digital imaging.

Zusammenfassung: The primary objective of this international workshop is to bring together researchers of varying backgrounds working on connective tissue microstructure, physiology and function using magnetic resonance imaging techniques, and to provide a forum for communication among these diverse groups. The workshop will also provide an opportunity for participants to get updated on the current status of MR imaging, recent advances of its role in drug development and management of diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Topics covered include an introduction to the state of the art of musculoskeletal imaging at multiple resolution scales, as well as pre-clinical and clinical applications, with particular emphasis on MRI and spectroscopy. Organ systems covered include cartilage, bone, inter-vertebral disc and muscle as well as matrix materials such as collagen, proteoglycans and synthetic and engineered biomaterials used for tissue repair.

The target audience includes radiologists, orthopaedists, rheumatologists, endocrinologists, biochemists, cell biologists, physiologists, bioengineers, and imaging scientists from a variety of disciplines in academia, pharmaceutical industry and government involved in musculoskeletal research.

This one day meeting will provide the opportunity to review the current state of clinical radiotherapy dosimetry and to learn about recent developments in the field.

Presentations are invited on all aspects of radiotherapy dosimetry, including: IMRT, IMAT, Tomotherapy, radionuclide, brachytherapy, 3D, in vivo and small-field dosimetry.

Zusammenfassung: Image-guided ablation (IGA) has evolved considerably in the last decade into a practical tool for the management of smaller, discrete tumours in many organ systems. The appropriate and effective use of these devices requires an understanding of case selection, image-guidance skills, radiologic follow-up and importantly its place alongside other therapies. ESGAR has therefore brought together an expert multidisciplinary faculty for a two day informal workshop aimed at both priming and enhancing an image-guided ablation service.

The workshop will include multidisciplinary management, open discussion of live cases along with equipment and device familiarisation. Delegate members are limited to forty so as to enhance the learning experience. If your interventional service is seeking to expand in this area early application is advised.

Zusammenfassung: CTC is a novel imaging technology that has proven to be a viable alternative to double contrast barium enema and colonoscopy for the diagnosis of colorectal cancer in symptomatic patients. Its accuracy, safety and patient acceptability also support its role as a potential screening modality for colorectal cancer and precursor polyps. This congress aims to raise medical awareness of CTC for both patients with symptoms and for colorectal cancer screening.

Acquisition of CTC data and its accurate interpretation require specific knowledge and reading skills. Both local and international experts will provide a mixture of lectures and practical hands-on workstation sessions with endoscopically validated CTC datasets. A wide range of presentations will span the whole field from the rationale for colorectal cancer screening, through acquisition of CTC data and its interpretation, pitfalls, Computer-Assisted Detection (CAD), and the specific implementation of CTC in Asia and the rest of the world. These will be supplemented by discussion and question and answer sessions. I would also like to invite you to submit your scientific papers and posters for the scientific abstract session and poster presentations.

Zusammenfassung: The The focus of this conference is to provide instruction in the routine and unique applications of ultrasound in the cancer patient. Presentations, both didactic and practical workshops, will cover a range of organ systems involving a variety of cancers with their respective diagnoses, management, complications and outcomes. Physicians and sonographers will also have an opportunity to participate in hands-on demonstrations on state-of-the-art ultrasound equipment, as well as to interact directly with the faculty.

Zusammenfassung: This one and one-half day workshop has been designed to review current aspects of colon cancer and colon cancer screening. The format for this course is hands-on training using workstations loaded with approximately 25-40 'endoscopically proven' data sets, chosen to include a mix of normals, abnormals and pitfalls. In addition to the hands-on experience, didactic lectures are included on patient preparation, data acquisition, current screening techniques, and how Virtual Colonoscopy fits in with overall patient management.

Zusammenfassung: After almost three years of preparation, CARS 2008 in Barcelona was launched giving special emphasis to the clinical impact of a computer assisted medicine. More than 1000 participants from 49 countries created an infectious spirit of international and interdisciplinary collaboration.

The department of Health of Catalonia, the societies ISCAS, EuroPACS, CAD, CAR and CMI as well as exhibitors and sponsors of CARS, specifically TicSalut and Indra, enabled the participants to feel being part of a pioneering community, jointly working towards a better health care for all.

The CARS 2008 president and organizer thank all participants and in particular also the speakers and poster presenters as well as session chairs for their valuable contributions. Their combined effort makes CARS a special type of congress aiming at achieving excellence in computer assisted medicine as its main core value.

We have a network of professional support including the Sydney Convention and Visitors Bureau, the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, and the Australian Department of Tourism working together with a Professional Conference Organiser. The Organising Committee for WFUMB '09 is dedicated towards designing a stimulating conference that aims to accommodate new developments and applications of ultrasound in medicine. Zusammenfassung: This course provides a balanced overview of the basics of more traditional breast imaging, blended with the newest state-of-the-art breast imaging techniques and modalities. Special attention will be given to Breast MRI and Full Field Digital Mammography, as well as newly evolving technologies such as Tomosynthesis, Phase Contrast Mammography, Whole Breast Ultrasound, and Molecular Imaging.
