Zusammenfassung: The topic of the workshop will cover astrophysical black holes (from supermassive to stellar), primordial and miniblack holes, both experimentally, phenomenologically and theoretically. Black holes are of utmost interest because they are likely to represent nowadays the most important clue to quantum gravity. Particular emphasis will be given to quantum aspects of black holes both from string theory and general relativity approach. The workshop programme will also contain a few introductory lectures on the most important topics concerning black holes.

Zusammenfassung: This conference is the eighth in a series whose aim it is to bring together people working in QCD and strong-interaction dynamics.

Zusammenfassung: The aim of this year's School is to present a wide panorama of current research in Theoretical Physics: Quantum Fields and Strings, Gravitation, Biology and Supercomputing. World leading scientists in their respective domains will give an authoritative introduction to what are considered as the most promising ideas and research activities in various directions. This is meant to positively contribute to broaden our view of science in an era of super specialization. It is assumed that participants have already received a specific training in Quantum Field Theory and Theoretical Particle Physics. The School consists of academic lectures and discussion sessions. There will be plenty of time for other activities in the Campus of Parma University, sports, culture, sightseeing.

Zusammenfassung: Hot and dense nuclear matter plays an important role in the quark-hadron transition shortly after the big bang, in the element production in stars and the interior of neutron stars. The properties of such matter under extreme conditions can be studied in heavy-ion collisions.

Several countries operate facilities or have plans to build new accelerator systems to investigate hot and dense nuclear matter in heavy-ion collisions. Such facilities are located in RIKEN near Tokyo, at GSI in Darmstadt, at GANIL in Caen and at MSU in East Lansing. For extremly relativistic energies, heavy-ion beams are available at 200 GeV per nucleon in the center of mass system at RHIC (Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider) in Brookhaven and even higher energies will be available at 14 TeV at the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) in the ALICE experiment at CERN in Geneva. Erice 2008 "Heavy Ion Collisions from the Coulomb Barrier up to the Quark Gluon Plasma" will be devoted to the physics at these facilities and will explore future plans at the GSI Darmstadt (FAIR) and at the "Future Isotope Science Facility" at MSU in the States.

Zusammenfassung: This is the fourth conference in the series started in Prague in 2003 and held in Wiena (2004) and Cracow (2006). The conference is dedicated to the physics at LHC.

Zusammenfassung: The Mexican School of Particles and Fields is a biennial conference organized by the Division of Particles and Fields of the Mexican Physical Society designed to gather specialists in different areas of high energy physics to discuss the latest developments in the field.

Zusammenfassung: The workshop will take a place at Nordita (Stockholm) from the 20th of October till the 24th of October. The workshop is the part of the program "Geometrical Aspects of String Theory" which runs October 15 - December 15 2008 at Nordita.

Zusammenfassung: Understanding the meson spectrum in the light and heavy quark sectors of QCD remains one of the fundamental objectives of strong interaction physics. Experiments planned at exisiting and future facilities will soon provide extensive data on meson production with protons and mesonic (CERN COMPASS), polarized photon (Jefferson Lab GlueX) and antiproton beams (GSI FAIR PANDA). New analysis methods are presently being developed in order to make optimal use of these high-statistics data sets and improve the reliability of traditional partial wave analysis. Motivated by the beginning of COMPASS and BESIII data taking, this workshop will summarize recent progress in understanding the physics issues, analysis methods, and instrumentation in meson spectroscopy. Topics include the relation of the meson spectrum to QCD (lattice and non-lattice), new developments in partial wave analysis and related methods, and the advantages of different probes in identifying and studying possible new objects. Particular emphasis will be placed on introducing the analysis methods developed for the different experimental approaches to researchers working in other fields and to develop common strategies.

Zusammenfassung: The workshop's main goal is to survey important recent developments concerning 2d sigma models along with some of their most important applications. We hope that the workshop can stimulate further interactions between branches of theoretical physics that share a common interest, but which are not united in one community.

Zusammenfassung: The XII Workshop on Nuclear Physics (WONP-2005) offers an outstanding opportunity for the world scientific community to meet in Havana to discuss current trends and tasks in several areas of applied and theoretical nuclear physics.

Zusammenfassung: The Conference will be a continuation of the series of Sakharov International Conferences held in 1991, 1996, 2002 as well as the Fradkin Memorial Conference held in 2000 and the 2005 Conference dedicated to the 70-year aniversary of the Tamm Theory Department.

Zusammenfassung: The traditional purpose of the Conference is to highlight the present status and prospects of searching for new physics beyond the Standard Model in non-accelerator experiments. Complementarity of accelerator and non-accelerator searches is a traditional leit-motif of the NANP conference. Various extensions of the Standard Model including ideas of supersymmetry, grand unification, extra dimensions etc. are supposed to attract both theoretical and experimental talks and discussions.
