Zusammenfassung: Hosted by the Aston Centre for Research into Safety and Security (CRISIS), the International Conference on Emergency Preparedness (InterCEPt) aims to facilitate the exchange of academic research, innovations and best operational practices in the management of emergency preparedness. InterCEPt provides a unique opportunity for academics, practitioners and policy makers to share lessons, plans, approaches and methods to prepare governments for when disaster strikes, as well as to identify promising new approaches to prepare the public to respond to major incidents.

The theme of this year’s conference is mass evacuation i.e. the displacement of thousands/millions of people in response to a major catastrophic incident. Mass evacuation presents some unusual challenges for emergency preparedness, for example, the coordination, transportation and sheltering of thousands of people. The conference will deal will all the aspects related to mass evacuation, from mitigation to preparedness, response and recovery.

Zusammenfassung: The conference on ORAFT-2010 aims to bring together mathematicians,researchers,engineers and managers to exchange and share their experiences,ideas and research work for existing challenges to be met with optimal solutions.This conference is committed to the continuing growth and will bring out significant contribution in optimization models as well as methodologies.It will open new opportunities to understand the use of OR tool in various fields for providing effective solutions to real life challanges.

Zusammenfassung: Agile software development changed the way the software development is perceived today. The journey continues now in the new era where the software business meets software practice in a novel way. We are proud to present the first International Conference on Lean Enterprise Software and Systems (LESS) in collaboration with the Lean Software and Systems Consortium. The journey starts from Helsinki, Finland in October 2010. LESS joins three strong communities together to form a platform for innovative ideas and future developments. We foster the interaction by joining the lean product development community with the agile community coupled with innovative ideas nurtured by the beyond budgeting school of thinking. These communities are supported by well-defined educational tracks to involve the university lecturers deeply in the network where future software and business managers are educated.

Zusammenfassung: The aim of the conference is to bring together researchers and scientists from all over the world to discuss theoretical and applied aspects of Operations Research and Optimization. There will be rigorous plenary talks by invited speakers as well as contributed talks. The language of the conference is English.
