1.Nonlocal PDEs, Variational Problems and their Applications

Zusammenfassung	The last decade has seen vigorous research activity to understand systems involving long-range effects, and to directly incorporate such effects in the modeling and analysis. This research has led to fundamental questions about several classes of nonlocal partial differential equations (PDEs), such as their long-time existence and regularity. This workshop will bring together both pure and applied mathematicians with a focus on (i) partial differential equations with nonlocal diffusive and/or transport terms, and their probabilistic interpretations (ii) nonlocal problems in pattern formation and phase transitions and biology, and (iii) nonlocal techniques in image processing. Application and registration forms are available online. Encouraging the careers of women and minority mathematicians and scientists is an important component of IPAM's mission and we welcome their applications.

3.Symmetries of Differential Equations: Frames, Invariants and Applications. A conference in honor of the 60th birthday of Peter Olver

Zusammenfassung	The conference will assess the present state of knowledge in the wide ranging but coherent research fields in which Peter Olver has been involved and celebrate his profound influence on these fields through his books and papers and, especially, through an amazing number of students, postdocs and collaborators. The main topics to be addressed are symmetries of differential equations and variational problems, with special emphasis on moving frames, Cartan theory of differential forms and invariant theory. Also Hamiltonian systems, integrable systems including solitons will be treated, as well as applications of symmetry-based methods to image processing, fluid mechanics and elasticity.

4.FEEC — NSF/CBMS Conference: Finite Element Exterior Calculus

Zusammenfassung	FEEC is a recent advance in the mathematics of finite element methods that employs differential complexes to construct stable numerical schemes for several important types of application problems. The concentrated sequence of lectures in this program will provide participants with an understanding of the mathematical tools required to fully grasp the concepts in FEEC. ICERM is pleased to host this NSF-CBMS Regional Research Conference.
