| Résumé | Das zentrale Thema dieses Moduls ist die sichere Behandlung und Endlagerung radioaktiver Abfälle. Am Beispiel des Endlagers Konrad werden Ihnen die Abläufe und Verantwortlichkeiten im Endlagerungsverfahren erläutert. Verschiedene Konditionierungsverfahren, deren Verfahrensqualifikation sowie die Anforderungen des Produktkontrollverfahrens zur Qualifizierung radioaktiver Abfälle stehen hier im Mittelpunkt. Hierbei spielt die Berücksichtigung wassergefährdender Stoffe in radioaktiven Abfällen eine besondere Rolle. Die technischen bzw. genehmigungstechnischen Anforderungen für die Endlagerung der wärmeentwickelnden Abfälle im Wirtsgestein Salz werden am Beispiel des Standortes Gorleben vorgestellt und diskutiert. Die Vor- und Nachteile anderer Wirtsgesteine bei der Umsetzung von tiefen geologischen Endlagern werden aufgezeigt und die Umsetzung von Endlagerprojekten im Ausland vorgestellt. Zum Abschluss des Moduls werden die Dozenten/-innen mit Ihnen über neue Technologien (Partitioning und Transmutation) für zukünftige Strategien zur Entschärfung der Endlagerproblematik diskutieren. |

| Résumé | Geological disposal is now well established as the ultimate end-point for managing long-lived radioactive waste in a safe manner which will protect human and the environment passively for the required long time scales (more information is provided in the RWMC 2008 Collective Statement). The modern concept of "safety case" was first introduced by the OECD/NEA Expert Group on Integrated Performance Assessment (IPAG) and was developed in the NEA confidence document of 1999. Since then the concept has been adopted internationally. Similar concepts are presented in the IAEA Safety Requirements on Geological Disposal of Radioactive Waste WS-R-4 (2006), and in the recent document: Disposal of Radioactive Waste, IAEA Specific Safety Requirements SSR-5 (2011) specifically states that developing a safety case, presenting it for review and using it as input for decision-making is an explicit requirement. The recent EU Directive (2011/70/Euratom) on radioactive waste and spent fuel management also shows consistent perception of a safety case. The purpose of the Symposium is to determine and document changes in the state-of-the-art since 2007. |

| Résumé | Die Stilllegung und der Rückbau kerntechnischer Anlagen, wozu insbesondere Leistungsreaktoren zählen, stellen planerische und genehmigungstechnische Fragestellungen mit einem hohen Anspruch an alle Beteiligte dar. In der laufenden Dekade werden sowohl in Europa, als auch weltweit zahlreiche Kernkraftwerke aufgrund ihrer Laufzeit und politischen Entscheidungen außer Betrieb genommen. Dieser Umstand erfordert optimierte bzw. zwischen allen Beteiligten abgestimmte Stilllegungs- und Rückbaustrategien. Der Inhalt der Fachveranstaltung fokussiert die rechtlichen Rahmenstellungen in Deutschland und vergleicht das Ausmaß der Stilllegungsaufgabe mit anderen Ländern wie z.B. Großbritannien. Neben den unterschiedlichen Genehmigungs- und Finanzierungsstrategien spielt das Personalmanagement beim Übergang vom Kernkraftwerksbetrieb zum Rückbauprojekt eine nicht zu vernachlässigende Rolle. Ebenfalls wird die Entsorgung radioaktiver Abfälle thematisiert, die für den zukünftigen Rückbau wegweisend sein wird. |
