Summer School in Archanes: 2-6 September 2024 The Summer School will be in the ancient village of Archanes, close to Heraklion, Crete. Its origins date back more than five millennia to the Minoan period (This is where the pottery used in the labyrinth of Knossos were made). Conference in Chania: 9-13 September 2024 The Conference will be held at the will be held at the Orthodox Academy of Crete, which is located directly on the seafront, close to the city of Chania. The site offers state of the art conference facilities, and many bonuses, such as a prize-winning chef, and a distance of about 20m to the beach.

Wilhelm and Else Heraeus-Foundation

The HERA workshops (WE Heraeus-EAS Early Career Researchers in Astronomy) are a recent initiative started by the European Astronomical Society (EAS) and funded by the Wilhelm and Else Heraeus-Foundation. This workshop series will provide an environment where early career scientists are trained to interact, design research projects, develop a broad perspective and start international collaborations. The second workshop in this series will be organized by the Academy of Athens. The EAS invites early-career European scientists (less than 5 years after their PhD), working in the field of galactic dynamics to apply for the workshop.
