1.NSSMICRTSDIEEE — 2014 IEEE Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference
 Dates 08 Nov 2014 → 15 Nov 2014
[ID=537477] Haut de la page
 LieuWashington State Convention Center, Seattle, WA, États-Unis
 Résumé The Nuclear Science Symposium (NSS) offers an outstanding opportunity for scientists and engineers interested or actively working in the fields of nuclear science, radiation instrumentation, software and their applications, to meet and discuss with colleagues from around the world. The program emphasizes the latest developments in technology and instrumentation and their implementation in experiments for space sciences, accelerators, other radiation environments, and homeland security. The Medical Imaging Conference (MIC) is the foremost international scientific meeting on the physics, engineering and mathematical aspects of nuclear medicine based imaging. As the field develops, multi-modality approaches are becoming more and more important. The content of the MIC reflects this, with a growing emphasis on the methodologies of X-ray, optical and MR imaging as they relate to nuclear imaging techniques. In addition, specialized topics will be addressed in the Short Courses and Workshops programs. The Workshop on Room-Temperature Semiconductor Detectors (RTSD) represents the largest forum of scientists and engineers developing new semiconductor radiation detectors and imaging arrays. Room-temperature solid-state radiation detectors for X-ray, gamma-ray, and neutron radiation are finding increasing applications in such diverse fields as medicine, homeland security, astrophysics and environmental remediation. The objective of this workshop is to provide a forum for discussion of the state of the art of material development for semiconductor, scintillator, and organic materials for detection, materials characterization, device fabrication and technology, electronics and applications. Devoted topical short courses are also provided suitable for students and junior scientists.

4.State of the art radiotherapy education day
 Date de début10 Dec 2014
[ID=660918] Haut de la page
 LieuLondres, Royaume-Uni
 Résumé Radiotherapy is a constantly evolving discipline; recently there has been a big drive towards the use of IMRT as a truly routine treatment methodology. The current step change in our thinking is a more systematic use of IGRT which is leading towards adaptive radiotherapy, wider use of stereotactic radiotherapy is also expected. This meeting will provide some background and educational information, for these and other contemporary aspects of radiotherapy. It will be relevant to all staff working in radiotherapy The aim is to give an appreciation of important topics, for example (but not limited to): why image optimisation is important, how much imaging should we be using, volume definition, what the developments in IMRT have been about and what is SABR.

5.Advances in radiotherapy for prostate cancer: from theory to practice
 Date de début12 Dec 2014
[ID=660895] Haut de la page
 LieuCardiff, Royaume-Uni
 Résumé This one day meeting will cover recent advances in the radiotherapeutic management of prostate cancer with a particular focus on use of hypofractionated techniques, IMRT and IGRT techniques. The meeting takes a multidisciplinary approach covering topics such as patient preparation, organ motion, and radiotherapy planning techniques to allow you to understand how to put theory into routine clinical practice. Aims and objectives: To develop an understanding of recent advances in radiotherapy for prostate cancer To be able to develop strategies required for the implementation of advanced radiotherapy for prostate cancer To understand the multidisciplinary approach required for the successful radiotherapeutic management for prostate cancer To critically assess the roles of the multidisciplinary team in the development of advanced radiotherapy techniques.
