The unique format of the Gordon Research Conference allows for the identification of emerging research areas and the presentation of work in progress that will not be quoted or cited (per GRC policy). Extensive discussion and poster sessions, as well as opportunities for informal gatherings in the afternoons and evenings, facilitate brainstorming and the development of new collaborations. This venue provides an excellent opportunity for junior scientists and graduate students to exchange ideas with leaders in the field.

All oral talks are invited but conference participants have the opportunity to present a poster on their own current research in progress on ceramics using experiments, computational approaches, theory and/or modeling.

Nickel-bearing ores are seldom in the league of mega-tonnage such as occur in the porphyry copper deposits. The scale and life-of-mine of nickel operations are thus much more limited, and one has to maximize the asset worth by processing efficiency rather than volume. Whereas the nickel market has started to stabilize after the recession of 2008/9, it will be a while before we see the record highs of a few years ago when the metal price peaked at $25/lb. Although nickel operations are often complemented by other payable metals such as copper and the platinum-group elements, under the current market conditions, every gain that can be sustainably made on recovery and grade enhances the business case. It is intended that the conference will attract contributions from experts around the world, to provide a forum for discussion of common problems and possible performance opportunities.

The International Conference and Expo on Material science and Engineering will schedule and coordinate all meetings with our Editorial Board Members of Journal of Material Science & Engineering and other experts in the Material Science & Engineering field across the World. The scientific program paves a way to gather visionaries through the research talks and presentations and put forward many thought provoking strategies in Material Science. The scientific program will focus on current advances in the research, production of different materials and use of materials science.
