7.haut de la page[ID=183750]The First International Conference on Water Resources and Climate Change in the MENA Region
02 Nov 2008 → 04 Nov 2008; Muscat, Oman

Résumé: The warming of Earth's climate system is unequivocal, as is now evident from observations of increases in global average air and ocean temperatures, widespread melting of snow and ice. The intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) has declared in 2008 that water resources are amongst systems and sectors that are particularly vulnerable to climate change and stand to be stongly impacted by it. While precipitation on average is expected to change only slightly, its variability is expected to increase. Extreme weather events, both in temperature and precipitation, are likely to occur more often, leading to increased occurrences of both floods and droughts. Climate change will influence the global hydrological cycle, and this in turn will have major impacts on water resources.

13.haut de la page[ID=183904]IInd World Aqua Congress
26 Nov 2008 → 28 Nov 2008; New Delhi, Delhi, Inde

Résumé: IInd world Aqua Congress aims to discuss “Global Climate Change and Water Resources”. The conference will focus on the current practices adopted and evolving guidelines for future. Global Warming is of great concern worldwide today. The consequences of Global warming can be seen everywhere and there are various serious concerns related to this issue:

* Average temperatures will rise, as will the frequency of heat waves.

* Warmer temperatures could also increase the probability of drought. Greater evaporation, particularly during summer and fall, could exacerbate drought conditions and increase the risk of wildfires

* Warmer temperatures increase the energy of the climatic system and lead to more intense rainfall at times in some areas

* More frequent and more intensive heat waves could result in more heat-related deaths. These conditions could also aggravate local air quality problems

11 Mai 2009 → 13 Mai 2009; Manado, Indonésie

Résumé: Issues on Climate change had been a long term debate. It had been started on 1970's, based on a paradigm that everything in the world is interconnected, such that when irresponsible environment's unfriendly activities pursue, like deforestations and green house gases waste producing ones, an atmospheric hole will be formed causing an atmospheric temperature increase and in turn making polar ice melt and seawater rise. An overal change of wind characteristics and oceanic current accrue, and thusly the climate change. To date the issue imposes a central discourse in politics and science alike, due to its impacts to the world and its foreseeable future.
