Résumé: We are pleased to announce the 2010 Interpore Conference and Annual Meeting, to be held at Texas A&M University, March 14-17. The goal of the conference is to provide a forum for discussing the academic and industrial challenges of porous media, as well as to foster collaboration among theoreticians, modelers and experimentalists working in porous media research. The *International Society for Porous Media* (InterPore) is a non-profit-making independent scientific organization established in 2008. The general aim of the Society is to advance and disseminate knowledge for the understanding, description, and modeling of natural and industrial porous media systems.

Résumé: This five-day set of short courses on the two major electron spectroscopy techniques, Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES) and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS/ESCA) is designed for scientists, engineers, technicians, and students, who would like a detailed understanding of the uses of AES, XPS/ESCA, and Data Processing for surface analysis and depth profiling. The courses can be taken as a 5-day package or individually.

Résumé: This conference follows the tradition of previous conferences on metal organic vapor phase epitaxy (MOVPE) by presenting the latest advances in science, technology and applications of MOVPE and related growth techniques.

Résumé: Photonic Metamaterials and Plasmonics (META) will bring together the two scientific communities of nanoplasmonics and metamaterials, both of which deal with tailored metal/dielectric and metal/semiconductor nanostructures. This meeting covers all experimental and theoretical aspects of this rapidly developing field ranging from fundamental science to applications and products, such as chemical and biomedical sensing, nanoscopy, plasmonic-enhanced solar cells and lighting, cancer treatment, etc. The scope especially comprises linear and nonlinear optical characterization, polarization manipulation, near-field optics and spectroscopy, sub-wavelength focusing, enhanced nonlinear optical phenomena, ultrafast nanooptics, quantum nanooptics including spasers and nanolasers, and active nanoplasmonics and metamaterials. Furthermore, corresponding novel approaches regarding nanofabrication and quantitative numerical simulation are of considerable interest.

Résumé: The TMS Electronic Materials Conference is the premier annual forum on the preparation and characterization of electronic materials. Attendees include individuals actively engaged or interested in electronic materials R&D. This conference presents both invited and contributed oral presentations, an exhibition, and related activities.

Electronic materials are defined as relating to, produced, or operated by the controlled flow of electrons through a semiconductor, gas, or free space along with those relating to devices, systems, or circuits that employ components such as vacuum tubes, integrated circuits, or transistors in their design.

Résumé: DPC is a cross disciplinary meeting for scientists interested in theoretical and experimental aspects of the dynamics of excited states in condensed matter in Physics, Chemistry, Life sciences and Material sciences. Basic as well as applied science aspects are covered. As in previous editions the meeting will be of limited size (~ 200 participants) in order to create an adequate atmosphere for discussion and knowledge transfer.

Résumé: Nanotechnology, which can be defined as the understanding and control of matter at dimensions between approximately 1 and 100 nanometers, has attracted enormous research and public interest for just about two decades. Nanotechnology is not a single process; neither does it involve a specific type of material. Instead, the term covers all aspects of the production of materials, devices and systems by manipulating matter at the nanoscale. Encompassing nanoscale science, engineering, and technology, nanotechnology involves imaging, measuring, modeling, and manipulating matter at this length scale.

Nanostructured thin films display unique phenomena, thus enabling the improvement of traditional applications or the development of novel applications. The fabrication, characterization, modeling, and manipulation of nanostructured thin films are essential to further scientific progress.

This conference welcomes contributions from industry, academia and government research organizations. Topics of interest cover any relevant aspects of nanostructured thin films, from modeling, fabrication, and characterization to practical applications.
