Integral Projection Models: Demography in a Continuous World
06 Nov 2017 - 10 Nov 2017 • Els Hostalets de Pierola, Spain
Population modelling  provides insights on  ecological  and  evolutionary processes  as diverse as the probability of a local extinction, the evolution of cellular maintenance, or the influence of clonality on senescence. With advances in computing power and theoretical developments, population models have evolved rapidly and new approaches such as Integral Projection Models (IPMs) have emerged.

This course will teach  basic and advanced applications of IPMs. By the end of the course, attendees will be able to construct IPMs with their own data (or data provided by the instructors) and estimate the number of important population rates including sensitivity analyses, life table response experiments, stochastic projections and times to local extinction.
