2D materials for spin-orbitronics
03 May 2021 - 05 May 2021 • Trieste, Italy
This virtual mini workshop will cover selected spin-orbit phenomena in low-dimensional materials, comprising their potential and concrete realizations for spin-orbitronics, mostly from the computational-materials perspective, but including also experimental view and results. Low-dimensional materials provide a fertile ground for generating interesting spin-orbit phenomena and are also ideal for incorporation in devices. The presentations will span the range from basic features to the forefront results in the field and are targeting final-year graduate students and early-career researchers in general. The talks will include the speakers’ views of the current trends, challenges and future directions in their fields and will be followed by discussion sessions.

MOFschool2021 — 2nd International School on Porous Materials
21 Jun 2021 - 25 Jun 2021 • Lake Como, Italy
Lake Como School of Advanced Studies
15th µSR — 15th International Conference on Muon Spin Rotation, Relaxation and Resonance and Student Day
04 Jul 2021 - 09 Jul 2021 • Parma, Italy
Science and Technology Campus, University of Parma
The meeting is being jointly organised by the muon group at the University of Parma in Italy and the ISIS muon group at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in the UK. It will cover all aspects of the use of muon spectroscopy in condensed matter, materials and molecular sciences, while also considering applications of muons in other areas, such as nuclear physics, cultural heritage and the study of single event failures arising from the irradiation of microelectronics. The meeting will be preceded by a Student Day.
School of Solid State Physics: Dynamics of Electrons in Atomic and Molecular Nanoclusters
24 Oct 2021 - 30 Oct 2021 • Erice, Italy
Electron dynamics governs a wide range of important effects in nanoscience. Nanoclusters, as important testbed systems for exploring and developing quantum size effects, novel materials, and reaction pathways, exhibit a range of phenomena which are highly sensitive to electron mobility, response, transfer, emission and attachment, direct and exchange interactions, correlations, etc. The aim of the present workshop is to bring together researchers in adjacent fields in order to examine recent and future developments and to enhance the connection between different branches of research. To keep the discussion focused, it will concentrate on free clusters and related systems.
ICG2021 — Italian Crystal Growth - Crystal Growth: From Theory to Application
16 Dec 2021 - 17 Dec 2021 • Turin, Italy
The aim of the Conference is to promote the meeting of researchers coming from public centers and industries to discuss problems related to the nucleation and growth of crystalline materials in natural, laboratory and industry environment. The Conference is open to subjects working in both experimental and theoretical fields concerning the crystal growth.
