PGMAM — Principles of Genetic Manipulation in Mice - a practical approach
01 Apr 2024 - 05 Apr 2024 • Porto, Portugal
Organizer:
Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto
Abstract:
This laboratory-based training course covers the fundamental principles and techniques of genetic manipulation of mouse embryos and ES cells for a broad range of applications, namely for creating mutant and transgenic models for biomedical research. Laboratory work will focus on the micromanipulation of mouse embryos by pronuclear injection and ES cell delivery, genotyping of gene targeting events, and experimental design of genome alterations using the CRISPR/Cas9 system.

EMB25 — Essential Molecular Biology - Hands-On Laboratory Course - 25th edition
17 Jun 2024 - 05 Jul 2024 • Porto, Portugal
Organizer:
Department of Experimental Biology, Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto
Abstract:
The Essential Molecular Biology course covers the fundamental principles and techniques used in experimental research in the area of Molecular Biology. Essentially practical in nature, it aims at the learning of current genomics and proteomics techniques, as well as the acquisition of skills in laboratory experimentation required for scientific research in Biomedicine. An exciting way to learn the essential genomics and proteomics techniques used in experimental research in biomedicine: hands-on, practical, intensive.

From Genetic Discoveries to Gene Function in Human Diseases Conference
13 Jul 2024 - 16 Jul 2024 • Lisbon, Portugal
Organizer:
Fusion Conferences
Abstract:
This conference aims to include recent progress in translating human genetic discoveries into functional characterization of genome wide association study (GWAS) regions that encode risk for complex human diseases. This symposium will highlight a number of exemplary functional studies of GWAS loci, examine how single cell data can accelerate translation of genetic associations, and how we can expand our catalogs of causal genes using the new CRISPR-Cas9 screening tools.
Abstract submission deadline:
01 Feb 2024
