IFS2018 — The XVII International Feofilov Symposium on Spectroscopy of Crystals Doped with Rare Earth and Transition Metal Ions
23 Sep 2018 - 28 Sep 2018 • Ekaterinburg, Russia
Abstract:
The XVII International Feofilov Symposium (IFS2018) continues a sequence of symposia started in 1965. The first nine events were held as national meetings. Already more than 20 years, symposia have been gathering researchers working in the fields of optical spectroscopy and condensed matter physics from all over the world. After the Xth (Saint Petersburg, 1995), XIth (Kazan, 2001), XIIth (Ekaterinburg, 2004), XIIIth (Lake Baikal, 2007), XIVth (St. Petersburg, 2010), XVth (Kazan, 2013) and XVIth (St. Petersburg, 2015) Symposia, IFS2018 will return once again in Ekaterinburg. Optical spectroscopy of crystalline and non-crystalline insulators and semiconductors doped with f- and d-ions; electron-phonon interactions and dynamics; relaxation of excited states; microwave-optical spectroscopy; magnetic resonance spectroscopy; cooperative processes and coherent phenomena; nonlinear spectroscopy; probing of organic and biomaterials; charge transfer phenomena and charge ordering; solid-state lasers, scintillators, phosphors; crystallography aspects for developing of optical materials, and spectroscopy of photonic crystals belong to the main topics of plenary and keynote lectures, oral and poster presentations.
Topics:
optical spectroscopy, luminescence, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, charge transfer phenomena, nonlinear spectroscopy, microwave-optical spectroscopy, solid-state lasers, scintillators, phosphors, photonic crystals, lanthanide ions, transition metal ions, condensed matter physics, crystallography of optical materials

ISCTA 2018 — XVI Interstate Conference "Thermoelectrics and their applications - 2018"
08 Oct 2018 - 10 Oct 2018 • Saint-Petersburg, Russia
Abstract:
The Conference is the 16th in the series of Interstate conferences on Thermoelectrics and their Applications that provides an international forum for presentations and information exchange on the thermoelectric materials science and thermoelectric energy conversion technology. This biannual conference series began in 1985 in Saint-Petersburg (Leningrad), Russia as a forum of the thermoelectric community of the Soviet Union. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, the Conference provides the meeting place for scientists from the Independent States of former the Soviet Union. No, we cordially invite the international thermoelectric community to join this meeting in one of the most beautiful cities of Russia.

Friedmann.10 — Tenth Alexander Friedmann International Seminar on Gravitation and Cosmology and Fourth Symposium on the Casimir Effect
23 Jun 2019 - 29 Jun 2019 • Saint Petersburg, Russia
Abstract:
The objective of the meeting is to promote contacts between scientists working in the field of Relativity, Gravitation and Cosmology and related fields. It is well known that the important role in Gravitation and Cosmology is played by the Casimir effect. To underline this, special Symposia devoted to this effect have been included in the Programs of the 7th, 8th, and 9th Friedmann Seminars. The Casimir effect is a multidisciplinary subject. Its applications extend from gravitation and cosmology to the van der Waals forces, materials properties, precise measurements and nanotechnology.
