Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT) and P. N. Lebedev Physical Institute (LPI) announce Thirteenth International Summer School of Modern Astrophysics. The focus of the school is on theoretical astrophysics, including theory and numerical simulation in a wide range of astrophysical contexts such as accretion onto stars, black holes and neutron stars; planet formation; the physics of black holes, neutron stars and magnetars and their magnetospheres. The school takes place on 3 - 7 July 2017 at the MIPT campus in Dolgoprudny near Moscow, Russia. The school welcomes undergraduate and graduate students, and postdocs. The working language is English. The participants can also apply for a two-week program immediately following the school, 10 - 21 July 2017. This program allows selected participants to participate in in-depth discussions of high-energy astrophysics theory and numerical methods, as well as potentially getting research experience by starting small science projects. The first week of this program will be led by Alexander Tchekhovskoy and focus on the wide range of astrophysical phenomena powered by compact objects. The second week will be led by Alexander Philippov and focus on kinetic effects in plasmas in various astrophysical contexts.
