2019 International Mechatronics Conference and Exhibition 2019
23 Oct 2019 - 25 Oct 2019 • Stillwater, United States
Abstract:
The Mechatronics Conference and Workshop will be held 2019 Oct 23 - 25 at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK. The conference and workshop are motivated by the demand of the next generation multi-disciplinary workforce industries. This conference is intended to bring together academic professionals and industry in mechatronics, robotics, and other electromechanical/electrohydraulic fields to provide the participants an opportunity to stay up to date with the incredible dynamic growth in the Mechatronics field. Keynotes from academia and specialized industry professionals, technical sessions, and the post-conference workshops are designed to benefit a wide range of participants including educators teaching mechatronics, robotics, dynamics, and control courses, graduate and undergraduate students seeking academic careers in mechatronics and robotics, and industry professionals desiring to shape the future workforce. Nevertheless, the conference will provide an excellent opportunity for the participants to develop relationships with peers from academia and industry and network with product distributors and manufacturers. Coupled with this conference there will be several workshops for hands-on learning opportunities in the field of mechatronics. Early registration is encouraged to take advantage of workshops. Conference seating is limited.

2019 Design Sciences Series Workshop: Digital Engineering: Digital Twin
06 Nov 2019 - 07 Nov 2019 • Washington, D.C., United States
Organizer:
American Society of Naval Engineers
Abstract:
The ASNE Design Sciences Series of workshops and conferences explore the emerging science of design methods, processes and tools for the successful design of naval engineering projects. Naval ships and systems are increasingly becoming cyber-physical systems as part of a broader trend commonly called the fourth industrial revolution (or Industry 4.0). The digital engineering of these cyber-physical systems cannot be executed without a digital thread enabled model based environment which goes well beyond the use of today’s design tools and methods such Computer-aided Design (CAD) and Product Model based digital repositories.

AVWS3 — Workshop III: Large Scale Autonomy: Connectivity and Mobility Networks
16 Nov 2020 - 20 Nov 2020 • Los Angeles, CA, United States
Abstract:
This workshop aims to bring together the essential communities from mathematics and engineering to address forthcoming issues central to our future transportation systems. It will bring together the operations research experts developing the next generation of fleet dispatching algorithms vital to mobility on demand services, the transportation engineers responsible for planning the future of our public and private transportation systems, and the modelers responsible for predicting new congestion dynamics at local and city scales. The workshop will also explore how these systems will operate in city, suburb, and rural contexts to support mobility needs for all.

Workshop IV: Social Dynamics beyond Vehicle Autonomy
30 Nov 2020 - 04 Dec 2020 • Los Angeles, CA, United States
Abstract:
In some application fields, automation will eventually remove humans from the loop, and autonomous systems will operate far away from any human agents. Not so with autonomous vehicles. Recent trends in urbanization are showing that future cities will flourish with human activity and autonomous vehicles will need to actively work with and around the humans. The development of autonomous vehicles can therefore not be undertaken without a better understanding of human nature. At the same time, with full autonomy, a fundamental paradigm shift will occur in how we, as humans and as a society, will see, perceive, and interpret the process of driving. This workshop brings together researchers from a variety of disciplines, including experts on social/behavioral, ethics, legal, and policy aspects, as well as researchers working on other heterogeneous systems that can serve as inspirations.
