GMG Workshop: Open Data Sets for AI in Mining
10 Jun 2020 • Virtual, Canada
Organizer:
Global Mining Guidelines (GMG)
Abstract:
AI research and progress in many spheres has benefited hugely from having a set of public and curated datasets. This has allowed developers and researchers to have suitable data to test and train their models on a variety of applications. More importantly, it has provided data which can be used to benchmark various solutions and allow for effective and fair comparison, as well as allowing for research to be repeated and validated. The GMG AI Working Group believes there is a strong case to work collaboratively with its stakeholders to build open data sets specific to the mining sector for AI research and development. The project will enhance the ability to build meaningful solutions for the industry by providing typical data relating to assets or operations for training and testing of models and allowing all parties to have the ability to benchmark solutions and research more effectively.

FDA's Ambitious Regulation of Social Media
16 Jun 2020 • Palo Alto - Webinar, United States
Organizer:
Complianceonline
Abstract:
FDA regulates advertising and promotion material as labeling. The legal definition of labeling covers just about anything that explicitly or implicitly conveys a message intended to affect a person’s behavior and decision outcomes. How FDA applies its legal tenants of false and misleading information or variations on that theme requires continual updating by FDA and constant re-evaluation by industry. Now the regulatory landscape involves other federal agencies and academic principles in psychology. It has become very complicated and will prove very costly if you knowingly or unknowing walk into one of FDA’s legal snares. This webinar will bring attendees up to speed so you are clearer about what is a problem, what is not a problem and what becomes a risk laden judgment call.
