The Bombannes summer school is devoted to the practical «state-of-art» approach to scattering methods, using neutrons, as well as X-ray and light sources - today’s key techniques to study structure and dynamics in systems containing colloids, polymers, surfactants and biological macromolecules. Since 1990 the Bombannes school series introduces, on a fundamental level, the current methodology of static and dynamic scattering techniques and their application to soft matter systems. It provides with a period of 2 years advanced training for young researchers with a working place in European laboratories at post-graduate and post-doctoral level.

Coherence - the International Workshop on Phase Retrieval and Coherent Scattering- is the top international meeting on developing and using coherent scattering methods with X-rays, EUV, electrons, lasers and beyond. It attracts researchers from many fields (physics, chemistry, biology, optics, …) interested in developing coherence-based methods and their applications.

After the previous successful meeting in Hamburg and the exciting new developments and results from these extraordinary light sources, we are looking forward to a fascinating and informative conference. The meeting will include the hottest new results, of course, but also tutorials on the operation and uses of FEL radiation along with possible tours of relevant accelerator and laser-based sources in the Paris-Saclay area.

The one and a half day “Forum on Advanced FEL Techniques”, aiming to bring together FEL experts and FEL users, will take place right after the main conference, from 20-21 June 2024.

Association Française de Cristallographie (AFC)

The school will be held in Nancy, at the site of the Faculté des Sciences et Technologies of Université de Lorraine. The ECS9 edition will focus on the improving of crystallography skills: from basic structure analysis to understanding of chemical bonds, bonding interactions and structure-properties relationships in materials.

Open Reflectometry Standards Organisation (ORSO)

The 6th Open Reflectometry Standards Organisation ORSO annual meeting will take place on the 19th July at ILL/ESRF campus as a satellite to the SXNS17 Conference. Physical attendance will require registration at SXNS, but we will additionally run some hybrid sessions for remote participants.

An international, open effort to improve the scientific techniques of neutron and X-ray reflectometry

FEL 2024 will focus on recent advances in free electron laser theory and experiments, electron beam, photon beam and undulator technologies, and applications of free electron lasers.

This 15th SRI conference will again be hosted by Deutsches Elektronen-Synchrotron (DESY) and the European XFEL.

The International Conference on Synchrotron Radiation Instrumentation (SRI) is a successful conference series continuing for over 40 years, organised by the community of worldwide synchrotron radiation and X-ray free electron laser facilities. The SRI conferences are important for the worldwide community to share key experiences in scientific and technical developments. Having timely access to the latest information and new ideas is of crucial importance for the future development of all light sources, the development of the field as a whole as well as for the economic and political development of participating countries. Along the conference an industry exhibition is scheduled.

International Conference on Synchrotron Radiation Instrumentation (SRI) is a unique, large and the most significant international forum held every three years in the community of synchrotron radiation (SR) and free electron laser (XFEL).

The EBIST symposium has been held every three to four years since 1977. The previous two symposia took place on October 23-27, 2018 in Shanghai, China and June 14-17, 2022 in Whistler BC, Canada (it was postponed from June 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions). The goal of EBIST 2024 symposium is to discuss the design, development, applications of electron beam ion sources and traps, and the physics with highly charged ions.

The J-PARC facility started its operation of a neutron beam facility in May 2008, a muon facility in September 2008, a hadron facility in February 2009, and a neutrino facility in April 2009. The output beam power of the accelerators is steadily increasing with the progress of the beam tuning and hardware upgrades. The output beam power of the rapid cycling synchrotron is reaching its design goal, 1 MW, and the main ring synchrotron achieved the operation for the neutrino facility at 500 kW. According to the symposium theme, "Futures of J-PARC, Futures by J-PARC", we will discuss the achievements from 15 years of J-PARC operation together with the progress in relevant fields around the world. We then will discuss future and upgrade plans of J-PARC and other facilities.

National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center (NSRRC) will host the XIX edition of the International Small-Angle Scattering Conference (SAS2024).
