Radiology For The Non-Radiologist
17 aou 2020 - 19 aou 2020 • Baltimore, Maryland, États-Unis
Organisateur:
American Medical Seminars
Résumé:
Following this course, the participant should be able to choose the appropriate ordering of x-rays, CT scans or MRI studies; employ interpretation skills that will improve patient outcomes resulting from recognition of normal vs. abnormal vs. poor technique; identify x-ray pathology that is commonly seen, commonly missed and how to prevent the latter in the clinical setting. This activity is expected to result in improved competence in making appropriate diagnosis and providing effective treatment and referral or follow-up care with the overall goal of improving patient outcomes. When indicated in the specific objectives, emphasis will be on ACR Appropriateness Criteria and evidence-based medicine with a focus on diagnosis, treatment and when to refer. There is a need for practitioners to maintain their skills in “first-read” x-ray interpretation, which are most needed in emergency rooms and urgent care environments. Since Radiology is one topic in which practice and repeated exposure improves skills and outcomes, this course was designed and intended for all practitioners at the level of a practicing physician.

The Abdominal/Pelvic MRI fellowship II., offered by TMC Academy, includes a systematic review of the MRI diagnostics of the urogenital and gastrointestinal tract conditions in the form of interactive lectures, followed by individual reporting and group discussion and a common reading session of the cases of selected cases from the TMC Academy teaching file, allowing for direct feedback from the mentor. The Q&A sessions provide opportunity to further clarify whatever deems necessary. The overall aim is to solve problems in various clinical scenarios and learn how to write a useful and meaningful report. Participation in this fellowship with a small group of radiologists ensures a personal learning environment where you will enhance and strengthen your own and each other’s knowledge in structured MRI reading. The successfully completed course will provide participants with practical knowledge that will be helpful to address everyday clinical challenges, and future pursuits.
