Abstract:
The effects of ICT on human beings as well as the interaction between ICT, individuals, and society are all within the focus of this conference. Both analyses of interactions and effects are important. Changes in behaviour, perspectives, values, competencies, human and psychological aspects and feelings are all of interest. Reflections on past, present, and future challenges – especially planning to handle the future – are encouraged. The conference pays attention to societal changes, global and more local organisational and institutional changes, changes in values and in lifestyles, as well as individual cognitive effects and changes, motivational and emotional changes. It also appeals to solution-building in terms of desirable goals and actions for reaching a Good Information Society. In general all types of research strategies are encouraged, and especially cross-disciplinary and multi-disciplinary studies. Case studies, broader empirical field studies, theoretical analyses, cross-cultural studies, scenarios, ethnographic studies, epistemological analyses may all be presented.

ISRE24 — International Society for Research on Emotion Conference 2024

Abstract:
The ISRE conference is an exciting opportunity to meet international colleagues, present your work, and stay up to date with the latest developments in emotion research. ISRE members study emotions from a wide range of disciplines including psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, sociology, linguistics, law, affective computing, history, anthropology, art, and design. ISRE 2024 will include keynote addresses by Phoebe Ellsworth, Terry Maroney, and Yuri Miyamoto.

If you would like to present your research, we invite you to submit an abstract of 250 words maximum by 20 November 2023 (end-of-day Pacific Time). Submissions are welcome from scholars in all relevant disciplines for symposia (of up to four talks and a discussant, or five talks), individual talks, and posters. We encourage those who would like to organize symposia to include more than one discipline in order to facilitate cross-disciplinary exchange.

If you would like to organize a pre-conference, please submit a one-page PDF proposal to the conference chairs, Gary McKeown (g.mckeown@qub.ac.uk) and Magdalena Rychlowska (m.rychlowska@qub.ac.uk). Proposals should include the names and affiliations of the organizers, a description of 400 words maximum, and a provisional line-up of speakers and topics.

ACM GoodIT 2024 focuses on the application of IT technologies to social good. Social good is typically defined as an action that provides some sort of benefit to the general public. In this case, Internet connection, education, and healthcare are all good examples of social goods. However, new media innovations and the explosion of online communities have added new meaning to the term. Social good is now about global citizens uniting to unlock the potential of individuals, technology, and collaboration to create positive societal impact.
